Position OverviewInternational Motors has a great opportunity for a Sr. Plant Human Resources Manager at our Powertrain Plant in Huntsville. The Powertrain Manufacturing Plant in Huntsville is a technologically advanced powertrain manufacturing facility that produces high-quality diesel engines and transmissions.
The Sr. Plant Human Resources Manager will report into the HR Business Integrator for Production and Logistics and will integrate business strategy, Lean Manufacturing, people, and organizational capability into one operating model that enables plant performance. During the current transformation toward the International Way, this leader is expected to act as a member of the Plant Leadership Team rather than as a traditional HR manager, owning end-to-end people outcomes and driving continuous improvement. The individual will also
lead the transformation of the plant's people systems by embedding Lean Manufacturing behaviors, building leadership capability, strengthening employee relations, and creating a high-performing culture aligned with the International Way and a high people engagement and people care.
Responsibilities
- Serve as strategic HR advisor and HRX Business Integrator to the Plant Director.
- Lead employee relations, engagement, leadership coaching, and people engagement.
- Maintain daily visible presence on the manufacturing floor (Gemba).
- Develop workforce plans aligned to production strategy.
- Lead recruiting, succession planning, performance management and talent development.
- Partner with HRX Enabling Hubs and Shared Solutions to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Use workforce analytics and operational metrics to drive decisions.
- Apply Lean principles to simplify HR processes and eliminate waste.
- Ensure compliance while improving employee experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of human resources or labor experience
- At least 3 years of lead experience

- Master's degree and at least 5 years of human resources or labor experience
- At least 3 years of lead experience

- At least 10 years of human resources or labor experience
- At least 3 years of lead experience

Desired Skills
- Human Resources leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with increasing responsibility supporting operational leaders.
- Demonstrated success partnering directly with plant leadership to improve business performance through people strategies.
- Proven experience supporting non-union manufacturing operations, with a strong track record of fostering positive employee relations and maintaining a union-free environment.
- Strong expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, compensation administration, leadership coaching, and organizational development.
- Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, drive organizational change, and successfully manage multiple business priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience using workforce analytics and operational metrics to support business decisions and measure organizational effectiveness.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and manufacturing workforce practices
- Experience within the commercial vehicle, automotive, powertrain, heavy manufacturing, or other high-volume industrial manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement, or equivalent operational excellence methodologies.
- Experience serving as a member of a Plant Leadership Team and partnering directly with senior operational leaders.
- Proven success leading organizational transformation, culture change, or business integration initiatives.
- Experience implementing HR technology, process standardization, or Lean HR initiatives that improve efficiency and employee experience.
