Full Job Description
SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and results-driven Sr. Physician Recruiter to join our organization. This on-site role will focus on leading full-cycle physician recruitment activities to support the strategic growth of our healthcare system.

The ideal candidate will bring at least five (5) years of direct physician recruiting experience with a proven track record of demonstrated, measurable results. The Sr. Physician Recruiter will work closely with medical leadership, human resources, and operational executives to meet physician staffing needs across multiple specialties.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for physician roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, and onboarding.
  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to attract high-quality physician candidates through direct outreach, digital marketing, professional networking, residency programs, and career fairs.
  • Build strong relationships with department chairs, medical directors, and key stakeholders to understand recruitment priorities and organizational needs.
  • Ensure an outstanding candidate experience through timely communication, well-coordinated interview scheduling, and professional engagement.
  • Track recruitment activities using the applicant tracking system (ATS) and prepare regular status reports for leadership.
  • Partner with credentialing and onboarding teams to support a seamless transition for new physician hires.
  • Stay current with physician market trends, compensation benchmarks, and healthcare workforce dynamics to ensure competitive recruiting practices.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, residency program events, and physician career fairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, organizational policies, and healthcare industry regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct physician recruitment experience in a healthcare system, hospital, or large medical group.
  • Demonstrated, measurable success in filling physician positions (e.g., placements, time-to-fill improvements, candidate pipeline growth).
  • Strong knowledge of physician specialties, medical education pipelines, and physician employment market trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems (ATS), candidate relationship management (CRM) tools, and sourcing platforms (LinkedIn Recruiter, PracticeLink, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site at the California facility and travel locally for events as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with California-specific healthcare employment laws and physician credentialing processes.
  • Active membership in AAPPR (Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment) or a related professional organization.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience in an office setting required.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time with moderate supervision.
  • Above average customer service and written communication skills required.
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Body Positions: Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
  • Body Movements: Arm and hand dexterity.
  • Body Senses: Must have command of close and distant sight, color perception and hearing.
  • Strength: Ability to lift and move up to 25-pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work in an office, where the climate is controlled
  • Occasional travel between medical groups and/or hospitals when necessary. 0-25 % of the time.
  • OSHA exposure category: III
  • Category I - Position includes tasks that involve exposure to Blood borne Pathogens.
  • Category II - Position includes tasks that do not have exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, however employment may require unplanned Category I tasks.
  • Category III - Positions includes tasks that do not involve exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. This position would not be required to perform Category I tasks.
