Location: Fountain Valley, Ca

Pay Range*: $123,843 - $179,454/annually

Position Summary

The Senior Organizational Development & Career Strategy Consultant provides systemwide strategic and operational support for organizational development, culture transformation, leadership development, change management, and career strategy initiatives across the MemorialCare enterprise. As part of a lean, high-impact OD team, this role requires a professional who is equally comfortable designing strategy and rolling up their sleeves to execute-a practitioner who can move fluidly between enterprise-level planning and hands-on delivery.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
• Partners with executives, clinical leaders, HR teams, and operational stakeholders to strengthen engagement, workforce capability, and alignment with MHS mission and strategic priorities
• The role supports systemwide upskilling and reskilling programs, internal mobility pathways, organizational assessments, and workforce development initiatives that advance the MHS Workforce Development Plan.
• Conduct organizational assessments and implement interventions that improve team effectiveness, communication, and collaboration
• Oversee the design and implementation of career development programs that prepare employees for evolving roles and future workforce needs

Essential Job Outcomes

Organizational Development & Culture Support

  • Support systemwide employee engagement strategies and culture initiatives that strengthen alignment with MHS mission and values.
  • Conduct organizational assessments, focus groups, and team effectiveness interventions.
  • Facilitate OD tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve communication, collaboration, and performance.
  • Provide operational support for systemwide New Employee Orientation and onboarding experience.
  • Develop instructional materials, virtual learning modules, and evaluation tools; serve as a subject matter expert in the learning management system.
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution to ensure consistent, high-quality OD deliverables.
  • Oversees development of instructional design, classroom training, virtual training, self-directed learning, testing and evaluation


Leadership & Executive Development
• Facilitate leadership development programs for leaders at all levels, including emerging leaders, clinical leaders, and operational managers.

  • Support succession planning processes through assessments, development planning, and leadership capability building.
  • Deliver leadership workshops, coaching sessions, and 360° feedback debriefs.
  • Co-facilitate systemwide New Leader Orientation and revamp, as needed
  • Provide both strategic input and operational execution for leadership development initiatives.

• Evaluate leadership effectiveness through program outcomes, 360° feedback, and bench strength indicators.

Change Management & Transformation

  • Serve as a practitioner and coach for change management methodology and capability building.
  • Support major transformation initiatives by conducting readiness assessments, stakeholder analyses, and adoption tracking.
  • Provide consultation to leaders on communication, engagement, and change execution strategies.
  • Act as both strategist and implementer-building change plans and executing the day-to-day activities required for adoption.

• Track adoption, readiness, and project milestones to ensure successful implementation.

Organizational Design, Workforce Optimization & Career Strategy

  • Conduct organizational design assessments to improve structure, workflows, and decision-making.
  • Support systemwide career strategy initiatives that expand internal mobility and career pathways.
  • Design and deliver upskilling and reskilling programs aligned with future workforce needs.
  • Partner with HR, Operations, and Finance to ensure workforce capabilities align with organizational strategy and emerging care models.
  • Provide tactical support to implement workforce development programs and tools.

• Ensure organizational structures and workforce plans support the MHS Workforce Development Plan

Workforce Development & External Partnerships

  • Support workforce development initiatives that strengthen pipelines for allied health, nursing, and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Maintain relationships with academic institutions, community organizations, and workforce agencies.
  • Align external partnerships with internal career pathways and workforce development strategies.
  • Track outcomes related to pipeline growth, program completion, and placement into MHS roles.
  • Provide operational coordination for partnership activities and program logistics.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Organizational Development, Leadership Development, Workforce Development, or related field.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization; health care experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OD methodologies, change management, leadership development, instructional design, strategy, organizational assessment, and career strategy.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, consulting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while executing operational tasks with excellence
  • Comfortable working in a lean team environment where flexibility, initiative, and hands-on execution are essential.


Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Development, or related field preferred.
