Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain internal networks for wireless infrastructure, system, and production implementations.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day issues in large-scale WLAN environments to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Provide Tier-3 support and advanced troubleshooting for wireless and LAN router & switching technologies.
  • Design, deploy, and test wireless network technologies and related configurations.
  • Lead and support critical project efforts, change management, outage management, and technical documentation processes.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be available for up to 20% business travel.

Full Job Description
Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provides support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.

Essential Functions:

Individual responsibilities may include but are not limited to wireless network configuration/implementation, automation, scripting, and technical documentation.
  • Supports critical wireless infrastructure from a Tier-3 perspective at all Field locations.
  • Identify and solve issues that affect wireless network performance on a day-to-day basis, which can require unusual work hours.
  • Advanced level troubleshooting in a large-scale WLAN network environment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of router & switching technologies in the LAN.
  • Design, deploy, and test wireless network technologies.
  • Ensure optimal performance and resolve complex issues.
  • Availability for 24/7 Tier 3 on-call rotation to provide network support/troubleshooting.
  • Available to travel for business needs (20% travel possible).

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:
  • Extensive knowledge of WLAN technologies (Extreme Network & Cisco preferred).
  • Basic understanding of Extreme Networks and Cisco CLI to configure and support WLAN and Cisco network hardware.
  • Extensive experience in the definition, design and implementation of wireless networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of IEEE 802.11 wireless standards.
  • Familiarity with WiFi 6, WiFi 6e, WiFi 7, and other emerging wireless technologies.
  • Familiarity with 802.1x, Radius and authentication processes.
  • High level wireless troubleshooting skills including packet captures.
  • Knowledge of wireless controller setup, installation, and support.
  • Ability to produce detailed documentation including network diagrams, logical diagrams and physical diagrams as needed (technical writing skills also a plus).
  • Network Cabling knowledge a plus (fiber and copper).
  • Basic knowledge of network monitoring tools.
  • CWNP wireless certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 45lbs.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in IT-related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years work experience in engineering or information technology environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Domicile Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business needs.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $6,168.90/month - $10,898.39/month
