A DAY IN THE LIFE:The Mobile Infrastructure team at Tandem Diabetes Care exists to keep our mobile engineering teams moving fast and shipping with confidence. We own the CI/CD systems, build automation, macOS runner fleet, and shared tooling that iOS and Android engineers rely on every day to build life-critical medical device software.
We are looking for a Senior Mobile Infrastructure Engineer II to help own our macOS and Linux runner infrastructure and mobile pipelines. This role is central to how we scale CI capacity, maintain runner health, and ship reliable builds for our iOS and Android applications. Working across provisioning automation, cloud-hosted VM platforms, GitHub Actions workflow design, and the Apple toolchain, this role partners closely with mobile engineers to reduce friction throughout the development lifecycle.
The CI systems this role owns directly support the reliability, quality, and delivery of FDA-regulated medical device software used daily by people with diabetes.
A Sr. Mobile Infrastructure Engineer II at Tandem also:
- Manages and evolves the cloud-hosted macOS VM fleet, including provisioning automation, capacity planning, health monitoring, and recovery; ensures runners are reliable, up-to-date, and consistently configured across environments.
- Designs, maintains, and improves build, test, signing, and release workflows for iOS and Android applications; drives improvements in build time, queue time, and flake rates through systematic measurement and iteration.
- Builds reusable workflows, composite actions, and shared tooling consumed across iOS, Android, and infrastructure repositories; establishes consistent, maintainable patterns for CI authoring in GitHub Actions.
- Writes reliable, well-tested Python and shell scripts for build orchestration, runner management, artifact handling, and secret lifecycle management.
- Instruments runner health, build durations, and failure patterns; owns alerting for outages and degraded pipeline states.
- Maintains toolchain version consistency across developer machines and CI environments; documents systems and authors runbooks.
- Maintains distribution certificates, provisioning profiles, and export configurations for Apple code signing; automates expiry monitoring and rotation across all build variants and environments.
- Contributes to Android build and signing workflows, including multi-flavor, multi-variant build pipelines and Firebase App Distribution delivery.
