What You'll Do Day to Day:

Responsible for delivering a strategic and cohesive vision of the Information Services software ecosystem by leveraging tooling, best practices, engagement, and software architectural design. Effectively performs analysis, requirements consultation, design, documentation, and certain development tasks associated with enterprise software initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Own the architecture for mobile applications from infrastructure to deployment.
  • Define high level mobile architectural and technological strategies, best practices, guidelines, and standards that balance short term and long-term objectives.
  • Direct strategy and reliability among system elements as they are advanced; identify when crossing point influences might occur and provide an early solution to avoid issues.
  • Operate with a team of architects in direct partnership with Product Management, Engineering/QA, and Operations to reach business goals and objectives.
  • Work with organizational leaders to understand business requirements and develop technology solutions that will positively impact the business.
  • Lead in End-to-End Application, SaaS, UI or Mobile architecture initiatives.
  • Participate in defining and maintaining enterprise design, development, code, and technological standards and principles while ensuring broad compliance.
  • These standards include but are not limited to size estimation, architecture, development platform, design, testing, security, and code.
  • Produce technical designs and provide guidance to development teams in creating native mobile applications (iOS/Android).
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and information technology professionals to further assist in identifying and defining nonrequirements and/or clarifying existing requirements.
  • Perform research and recommend emerging technologies and current architectural strategies that support digital transformation efforts including native mobile applications and the encompassing mobile ecosystems.
  • Write technical documentation for various audiences in the IT organization including application development, quality assurance, DevOps, and management teams.
  • Build applications in memory and network constrained environments.
  • Participate in systems requirements and solution specifications activities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree, preferred.
  • 5+ years of integrating mobile solutions with RESTful API backends including in-depth experience with authorization, session management, synchronous and asynchronous messaging, and error response handling.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecting native mobile applications (iOS, Android platforms).
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile app software development with a strong command of object-oriented principles and patterns such as MVVM or MVP.
  • In-depth knowledge of professional software engineering SDLC practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous integration, build processes, TDD, and operations.
  • Proficient understanding and ability to generate architectural artifacts such as UML, Sequence, Flow-Charts, Data Flow, and Use Case Diagrams.
  • Proficient with iOS and/or Android application stacks (e.g. Swift, Kotlin, REACT Native) and related mobile solution architectural patterns and UI design paradigms; hybrid mobile application experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with delivery of real iOS/Android native applications that are either in App Store or Google Play or on an Enterprise Distribution.
  • Proven experience in building highly scalable, reliable, and complex software systems on-time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of Objective-C/Swift, XCode, UIKit, and Interface Builder.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kotlin, J2EE/J2ME, Android SDK, Eclipse Android application development tools such as Android Studio and ADT.
  • Proficient in best practice software design principles such as DDD, SOLID, and OOP.
  • A polyglot with practical experience with Java/React Native/ Angular/ Android/iOS tech stack.
