Job DescriptionResponsibilities- Develop and design system architecture based on requirements, scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot the building, installation, configuration, operation, documentation, and maintenance of mission response infrastructure equipment, software, hardware, video teleconference (VTC), audio-visual and next generation communications kits.
- Implement plan and design of infrastructure components such as servers, storage networking, applications, and services required to support systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and assisting with system configurations and installations.
- Monitor server environments, including physical and virtual servers, to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
- Implement backup and recovery solutions to protect data integrity and ensure business continuity.
- Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Maintain the integrity and availability of Directory Services for identity and access management.
- Perform data entry (Footprints, WASP, SolarWinds, etc.), phones, customer requests, and ticketing workflow in the ECN Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Interface with vendors and customers as required.
- Participate in the Deployment Authorization Program (DAP) for emergency response and temporary duty location (TDY) for non-emergency response travel.
- Support National Emergency Response group's emergency response drills, exercises and real world events through on-call availability and travel via commercial and military aircraft when required, and provide reachback to the Home Team.
- Familiar with current satellite, voice, video teleconference, data communications, and/or cybersecurity policies and practices.
- Travel as part of an installation or restoration team when directed.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 5 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment and Microsoft Office desired.
- Experience in communications, business, project management or related discipline
- Working knowledge of data entry, computerized maintenance management systems, call center or network operation center, or IT service management systems.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills with proficiency in composition, proofreading, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- This position is located at the Remote Sensing Laboratory, Nellis (RSLN) on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work schedule for this position will either be 4/10s, 9/80, or 5/8s (management discretion). Must be willing to perform on-call duty and ensure availability to work non-standard hours.
- Personnel may be requested by leadership to work in excess of 40 hours per week due to projects, activities, and emergences; critical operational demands may occasionally require off-shift work.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Annual salary range for this position is: $95,139.20 to $142,708.80.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
