Product Engineering is a unified team responsible for the engineering of Disney Entertainment & ESPN digital and streaming products and platforms. This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality assurance, engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.

Disney's Media Delivery team is seeking a Sr. Media Delivery Operations Specialist who will be an exceptional asset to our VOD Operations team. As a Sr. Media Delivery Operations Specialist at Disney DTC streaming products, you will be responsible for management of the health and accuracy of Hulu's large content library and the operational effectiveness of the VOD content pipeline. You are a trusted operational advisor to all teams and often partners with Engineering & Product teams. The right person for this role has working experience in all manner of video operations, metadata management, and encoding distribution workflows. If you are a logical problem solver who thrives on new challenges, is driven to improve operational effectiveness, can troubleshoot on the fly, excels in cross-team collaboration, is highly organized, and has strong communication skills, then this is a great role for you!

Job Summary:

  • Work among a small team responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, triaging, and improving upon an array of complex metadata, artwork, and systems challenges.
  • Follow established content issue escalation process for VOD; work to improve upon established escalation processes.
  • Be a voice of operational improvement within Hulu's digital supply chain and content toolset; independently and proactively analyze operational workflows to propose scalable solutions to operational issues.
  • Maintain documentation and runbook accuracy through regular refinement or creation.
  • Provide operational guidance and communicate tech challenges and business requirements effectively to a variety of stakeholders
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to respond to issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Willingness to take part in a rotating on-call schedule to address timely issues off-hours.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities)

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in digital distribution, post-production, and/or digital asset management.
  • Expertise with content management systems or digital metadata management for VOD.
  • Familiarity with JSON XML and structure and formatting
  • Familiarity with manually working in an API document (eg Swagger)
  • Ability to deliver incredibly high-quality results in a heavy multitasking environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with VOD delivery packaging standards such as MDDF and ADI
  • Experience in SQL query language.

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in TV/Film Production, Communications, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, or similar

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $80,700 to $108,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
