Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manufacturing Systems Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of custom software, manufacturing and MES solutions. This role bridges the gap between IT and operational technology (OT), requiring deep expertise in the Microsoft .NET ecosystem alongside hands-on experience with industrial software, specifically Aveva System Platform and Aveva MES.
The Senior Developer will architect complex applications, drive technical standards, and work closely with controls engineers, analysts, and project stakeholders to deliver robust data visualization and execution systems across our manufacturing facilities and steel foundries throughout North America. ---
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and Develop: Design, development, and deployment of scalable custom software solutions and industrial dashboards utilizing the .NET framework.
• System Integration: Design and build new, custom applications within Aveva System Platform and Aveva MES to create cohesive, centralized enterprise solutions.
• Complex Troubleshooting: Lead the debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization of highly concurrent applications and real-time data integrations.
• Documentation & Strategy: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, system architectures, and deployment procedures.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex business and plant-floor requirements into technical specifications.
• Continuous Innovation: Evaluate and recommend modern development practices, tools, and frameworks to improve manufacturing operations and business efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core / .NET 8+.
• Proven, hands-on experience configuring, developing, and integrating with Aveva System Platform and Aveva MES.
• Strong understanding of OT/IT convergence, industrial data logging, and integrating plant-floor data with business systems.
• Expertise in SQL Server, database architecture, and performance tuning.
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture.
• Extensive experience with version control, automated testing, and modern debugging tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.---

• Architects and delivers secure, highly available manufacturing applications on time and within scope.
• Successfully bridges enterprise software with Aveva MES/System Platform to drive operational visibility.
• Communicates project risks, technical roadmaps, and architectural decisions effectively with leadership and plant stakeholders.
• Actively drives continuous improvement in the team's software development lifecycle and deployment strategies.
• Experience building interactive web interfaces using Blazor, MudBlazor, and SignalR.
• Experience configuring, maintaining, and deploying applications within the Aveva System Platform
• Deep understanding of Aveva MES core functionalities, specifically targeting Quality Management, Equipment Performance (OEE), and Production/Inventory Control.
• Familiarity with industrial automation hardware and concepts (e.g., Allen Bradley PLCs, tag rendering, Supervisory Server environments).
• Experience building and consuming RESTful Web APIs.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong background working within Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools (ex. Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) and how they can improve productivity for software teams and operations staff
