Job Description
General Description:
Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods, operational sequences, and production processes for the fabrication and assembly of parts, components, subassemblies, and finished products. Collaborate closely with Design Engineering to coordinate new product introductions (NPI). Estimate manufacturing costs, establish labor standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements for new and existing product lines. Maintain manufacturing records and reporting systems to support production coordination. Provide manufacturing engineering support through cost reduction initiatives, process optimization, and productivity improvements.
Key Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations
Develop, implement, and sustain the site's Operating System initiatives throughout all phases of deployment.
Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and industrial machinery.
Lead projects focused on continuous improvement, process automation, and production process optimization.
Validate and coordinate equipment and process failure analyses, utilizing the Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) methodology to implement corrective and preventive actions that ensure optimal production equipment performance.
Supervise, coach, and coordinate the activities of Manufacturing Engineering personnel.
Develop and evaluate plans to maximize the utilization of available capital resources, equipment, and workforce.
Develop equipment relocation and facility layout improvement plans to optimize material flow and increase production capacity.
Monitor key manufacturing performance indicators (KPIs), including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Scrap, Yield, Efficiency, and other operational metrics, to define strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Develop and execute plans that support the successful introduction of New Products (NPI) while leading cost reduction initiatives through process improvements and innovative manufacturing solutions.
Participate in documentation activities and compliance initiatives to achieve and maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Master's degree preferred.
Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar Manufacturing Engineering leadership role within the electronics manufacturing industry (required).
Strong knowledge of production process implementation, including nonconforming product control, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Experience with electronic manufacturing processes, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), printed circuit board (PCB) soldering, automated insertion, product assembly, and inspection processes.
Experience leading and developing technical teams.
Knowledge of industrial safety regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Experience with production equipment maintenance, systems integration, and manufacturing process automation.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Power BI is preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Experience leading Kaizen events and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Experience managing capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools, including Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Visual Management (VM), and related methodologies.
