What you’ll do
⦿Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements for Weir ESCO’s foundry operations, focusing on safety, cost, delivery, and quality enhancements. Daily activities include identifying gaps, analyzing processes using lean and statistical tools, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to prioritize and execute improvements. Success means measurable improvements in operational efficiency and quality with minimal variation.
⦿ Project Leadership: Lead projects from scoping through execution using internal and external project management best practices. This includes designing/modifying production systems, equipment, and processes, and ensuring quality through FMEAs and Control Plans. The role requires managing competing priorities and delivering projects that align with plant and global objectives.
⦿ Shop Floor Engagement: Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, building credibility through listening and collaboration with operators, supervisors, and leadership. Incorporate operator input into process improvements and adapt approaches to the unionized environment.
⦿ Technical Expertise: Apply structured problem-solving, process capability analysis, and engineering economic tools to evaluate and reduce process variation. Use Design for Manufacturability concepts and industry research to innovate manufacturing processes.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
⦿ Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical preferred)
⦿ Minimum 6 years of manufacturing engineering experience
⦿ Proven Project Management skills related to Manufacturing Engineering Improvements.
⦿ Strong written and oral communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
Nice-to-haves:
⦿ Experience managing projects from scoping to execution, including schedule and cost development
⦿ Hands-on manufacturing environment experience with a willingness to work on the floor alongside operators
⦿ Mechanical hobbies or interests that demonstrate practical skills and curiosity
⦿ Experience leading change through influence
