Job Summary

Responsible for leading and improving supplier quality performance across our divisional manufacturing sites. Establishes standardized processes, ensures compliance with customer and other requirements, and drives measurable improvements in supplier capability. Must work cross-functionally with supply chain/procurement, engineering, operations, quality, and others to ensure alignment through product lifecycles.

Job Description

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision of supplier quality and/or receiving inspection personnel for the division.
  • Develop division-wide strategies, policies, and procedures related to supplier quality
  • Act as key escalation point for all critical supplier quality issues.
  • Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, monitoring, controlling, and risk assessment processes.
  • Create plans for and execute supplier audit activities and strategies including assessments on selection for audits.
  • Establish and manage key supplier performance metrics such as PPM, on-time delivery, corrective action effectiveness, and more.
  • Lead performance review activities for suppliers with follow up actions as necessary.
  • Manage supplier change control processes to ensure risk assessment and approval prior to implementation.
  • Participate in cost-reduction initiatives with other groups as it relates to supplier changes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams of supplier quality and receiving inspection personnel across all sites.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, prevention, and continuous improvement within team and supplier base.
  • Develop robust strategies for inspection plans of parts received from suppliers including inspection, quarantine, and following non-conforming processes when necessary.
  • Travel up to 30% is required to support divisional efforts and business needs.

Experience/Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing with a minimum of 5 years in a Supplier Quality role.
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience
  • ASQ or similar certification preferred
  • Experience with ISO9001 or equivalent
  • Experience auditing suppliers in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
  • Must be a US citizen due to government contract related work

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
