Full Job Description
Overview

The Sr. Manager, Strategic Technologies role will play a critical role in the build, integration, and ongoing operations of Salesforce LSC for Patient Services, while also helping establish the engineering standards, patterns, and reusable components needed to support future Salesforce initiatives across additional CRM and engagement domains. This role requires a highly capable, hands-on developer who can deliver high-quality solutions, guide implementation decisions, and ensure the platform remains scalable and supportable as adoption expands.

Qualifications
• Serve as a senior technical contributor for the Salesforce platform, delivering hands-on (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, APIs, custom objects, Flows, Lightning pages and apps, security models etc.) development across configuration and code to support business and future Salesforce initiatives.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate objectives into scalable technical designs, implementation plans, and delivery roadmaps following Salesforce best practices.
• Design, build and support Salesforce capabilities supporting business workflows, reporting, and integration with third-party systems.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation, including architecture/design reviews, build quality oversight, and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Drive delivery across the full SDLC, including estimation, development, code review, testing support, release planning, and post-release stabilization.

Platform Engineering, Reuse & Standards
• Establish and enforce Salesforce engineering standards including environment management, code review practices, automated testing expectations, documentation of technical decisions, and maintainability guidelines.
• Build reusable platform assets (shared components, common objects/patterns, integration utilities, and reference implementations) that accelerate delivery across future CRM domains.
• Contribute to Salesforce platform strategy decisions (environment strategy, packaging/release practices, performance patterns, and guardrails) that support scale and long-term operability.
• Mentor and upskill other developers and admin/config resources by promoting strong engineering practices and pragmatic platform design.

Integration, Data & Operational Readiness
• Build and support integrations between Salesforce to other Salesforce instances and enterprise/third-party systems, ensuring appropriate error handling, monitoring/observability, and operational resilience.
• Contribute to data architecture and quality patterns for Patient Services and future domains, including validation strategies, consistent data capture, and reporting enablement.
• Partner with security, privacy, compliance, and validation stakeholders to ensure solutions meet internal standards and regulated expectations.
• Support ongoing operations: monitoring, incident response, defect remediation, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and continuous improvement.

Roadmap Expansion & Future CRM Domain Readiness
• Support technical planning for future Salesforce expansion beyond Patient Services, including assessment of data model fit, integration impacts, migration considerations, and platform scalability.
• Contribute to evaluation of lifecycle CRM strategy options and technical implications, ensuring decisions are informed by platform realities and delivery/operational constraints.

Vendor Partnership & Delivery Oversight
• Work effectively with implementation partners to review designs, assess tradeoffs, and ensure build quality meets Alnylam expectations for scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for complex platform issues and delivery risks, proposing pragmatic solutions and driving resolution to closure.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Required: 8+ years of overall software development experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development (Apex/LWC), with increasing responsibility for solution design and technical leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to operate at both technical depth and business context, translating requirements into high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Strong experience with integrations and enterprise system connectivity (middleware/API patterns, data sync, error handling, and production support).
• Experience delivering and supporting CRM solutions in regulated environments (healthcare/biopharma preferred).
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, business partners, and external vendors.

Preferred
• Experience with Patient Services / patient support workflows (enrollment, consent, case/support processes) and related reporting needs.
• Experience implementing or operating Salesforce industry solutions like Omni Channel, Orchestration, Experience Cloud, knowledge management and/or complex CRM transformations.
• Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, JavaScript Developer I, Application Architect/System Architect) are a plus.
