Job Description:Sr Manager, R&D Strategy & PerformanceLocation: WLO and WKKI Innovation Center in Battle Creek (HKT considered)
The Regional R&D Program, Performance and Capability Lead is a pivotal member of R&Ds connected, strategically aligned, and performance-driven organization. This role is responsible for ensuring R&D develops, deploys, and executes R&D strategies that deliver against business objectives, while driving the team's efficiency, capability, and engagement through work system and process application.
What are we looking for?- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in science or business, Engineering, or related field;
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Technical Program / Project Management within CPG, Manufacturing or Consulting environments within an R&D function preferred.
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, KPI tracking, Data analysis and Data management.
- Experience with portfolio management tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated success leading programs and influencing stakeholders within in a complex matrixed organization with competing priorities.
- Proven experience leading high-performance Sr Leadership Teams.
- Familiarity of working with Mars core business processes (S&OP+, QuEST, QES) and systems (PPM) preferred.
What would your key responsibilities be?R&D Strategy Co-pilot & Performance Management
- Partner with the Regional R&D VP and Leadership Team (LT) to drive the development of regional OGSM integrating global R&D and regional business strategies.
- Develop and implement KPIs and mechanisms for R&D project and program performance reporting and management.
- Foster a culture of performance management rooted in KPIs and strategic objectives.
- Accountable for regional R&D resource allocation, portfolio management, product performance, and budget oversight.
R&D Leadership Team (LT) Orchestration
- Orchestrate the regional LT agenda
R&D Work Systems & Business Process Management
- Orchestrate work systems and business processes across the region
- Lead the regional R&D Work Systems (WS) Centre of Excellence/Steering Committee setting up a connected learning network
- Distribute accountabilities across appropriate regional roles.
- Manage the roadmap for deployment of WS/BP technology solutions for the regional R&D team.
- Oversee the Regional R&D Work System (WS) leads and process owners in the development and implementation of roadmaps Track adoption, maturity and performance across priorities
- Run regional governance and performance cadence
- Serve as the regional connection/SIPOC for global work system and BPO roles.
- Escalate systemic issues and capability gaps to regional LT and Global WS and BPO.
Regional R&D Governance
- Own regional R&D governance processes and associated reporting.
- Cascade process trainings, ensure adoption, usage, and continuous improvement (e.g. PDA governance, regional R&D budget).

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 153,600.00 - USD 211,200.00
