Job Description:

The Sr. Manager, Project Management will report to the Sr. Director, Systems, Integrations, & Standardization. This role leads the strategic projects within finances in a project management capacity. This role is responsible for managing high-impact, enterprise-wide finance and accounting projects, including system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and organizational change efforts. This role plays a pivotal role in aligning project delivery with finance department objectives, advancing project governance, and enhancing execution excellence across finance and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight
• Work as the Finance PMO resource, ensuring alignment with organizational and departmental goals.
• Work unilaterally across the different finance functions to ensure alignment regarding ongoing projects.
• Drive strategic planning, prioritization, and execution of enterprise-wide finance initiatives.

Project Portfolio Management
• Manage large-scale, complex, and high-risk finance and accounting projects from initiation through completion, including ERP upgrades, financial system implementations, and process transformation efforts.
• Develop and maintain the Finance PMO portfolio roadmap, Gantt charts, and executive dashboards.
• Lead the portfolio prioritization process and oversee project intake and activation in partnership with Finance leadership.

Governance & Methodology
• Implement and evolve project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) appropriate to finance-related initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management maturity and performance metrics within the Finance department.
• Oversee configuration and utilization of the PPM platform for finance project tracking and reporting.
• Ensure project documentation, controls, and governance frameworks align with finance compliance and audit requirements.

Collaboration & Communication
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Finance department and senior leadership for project-related updates and status reporting.
• Facilitate executive-level project reporting and monthly Finance division-wide project reviews.
• Partner with Finance, Accounting, IT, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to drive successful project outcomes.
• Translate complex finance and accounting process changes into clear project plans and stakeholder communications.

Strategic Leadership
• Contribute to the development of the Finance division's strategic plan and multi-year transformation roadmap.
• Develop Finance leadership forums, change advisory bodies, and governance committees.
• Lead change management and transformation initiatives to improve financial processes, system capabilities, and documentation.

Required or Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of progressive project management experience, with significant exposure to finance or accounting environments.
• At least three (3) years in a formal leadership role managing Project Managers or cross- functional finance teams.
• PMP certification preferred; additional certifications (e.g., PMI-ACP, PgMP, CPA, or CMA) are a plus.
• Experience leading high-profile finance system implementations (e.g., ERP, EPM, financial reporting platforms) or large-scale process improvement projects.
• Proven success building and maturing PMO functions within a finance or corporate services environment.

Essential Competencies:
• Deep understanding of project governance, resource allocation, risk management, and financial controls.
• Familiarity with core finance and accounting processes, including budgeting, financial close, reporting, and compliance.
• Experience with Monday.com or other project management systems is a plus.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with executive-level presence and the ability to influence without authority.
• Advanced analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to connect project outcomes to financial performance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical finance stakeholders.
• Adept at navigating matrix organizations and managing competing stakeholder expectations across the Finance functions.
• Proficiency in collaboration tools, such as video conferencing software, instant messaging platforms, and project/portfolio management systems.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday, NetSuite) and financial reporting tools is strongly preferred.
• Compliance with all security, privacy, and financial data governance policies and protocols.
