Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

This position is responsible for directing the daily activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team that supports the RS-25 program. The team consists of Managers, IPT team leads. The position will report to the Director of the Manufacturing Engineering and is dotted line to the RS-25 Program office, with the primary objective of executing Operations & Program goals. The position will oversee a team of Manufacturing Engineering Managers, coordinating across multiple functions to ensure program success. Additionally, this management role includes financial responsibilities for operations & programs.

Essential Functions:

  • 25% Managing Employees: Direct daily work assignments to meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments. Maintain employee training and critical skills. Support employee growth through training in manufacturing and engineering requirements and processes. Integrate strategies to create productive cohesive team.
  • 25% Program support: Attend daily program meetings determine shop floor priorities to ensure AOP goals are achieved on time & within budget. Create environment for communication with Quality, Supply chain, Operation, Engineering & Program leadership to drive production.
  • 20% Understand program financial performance and head count requirements. Coordinate operation to ensure the staffing plans meets program requirements. Collaborate with both Program office and operations to align schedule commitments with financial goals.
  • 15% Support Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement Initiatives: Drive process improvement projects to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability with a focus on reduced costs and improved quality.
  • 10% Support Site Audits: Support internal and external audits of the manufacturing area. Drive root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective action on any findings.
  • 5% Support & Drive Safety: Identify, report, and eliminate unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Work with your teams to implement safety improvements and drive a culture that promotes a safe environment.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge in manufacturing specifically with RS25 and NASA business office. Project management & team building.


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $126,000 - $234,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
