About the role

PMO Lead will support the successful delivery of a major transformation programme, following the merger of two organisations. This role is critical in driving project discipline, embedding consistent ways of working, and ensuring effective governance and reporting across a portfolio of 12+ strategic transformation projects. The PMO Lead will oversee day-to-day PMO operations, integrate legacy and new delivery approaches (including stage gate controls), and manage a team of Project Managers (PMs). This includes onboarding the Berry PMs onto our ServiceNow platform, leading the PM Forum to share best practices and issues, and acting as the driving force behind project delivery.

Key Job Accountabilities

Governance & Delivery Management
  • Integrate and embed standardised stage gate and governance processes across all transformation programmes.
  • Serve as a delivery assurance lead - ensuring all projects are on track, risks are managed, and milestones are met.
  • Provide a "critical friend" challenge to PMs, escalating delivery concerns and ensuring appropriate corrective actions
  • are taken.


PMO Operations & Tooling

  • Lead the onboarding of Berry project managers into ServiceNow for end-to-end project lifecycle reporting.
  • Own the configuration and optimisation of ServiceNow as the central PMO tool for status reporting, resource planning, and portfolio visibility.
  • Maintain high-quality, standardised project documentation and templates to drive consistent execution.


Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day management, direction, and support to Project Managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Run the monthly PM Forum, creating a space for collaboration, knowledge sharing, issue resolution, and continuous
  • improvement.
  • Support PMs through delivery planning, execution, and reporting - ensuring alignment with transformation
  • priorities.


Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a key point of contact between the Transformation Office and other senior stakeholders including IT,
  • Change, Finance, and Business Sponsors.
  • Provide clear, insightful updates on delivery status and risks to the Transformation Leadership Team.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and collaboration across workstreams.


Day-to-Day Activities
  • Lead daily/weekly check-ins with PMs to monitor progress, unblock delivery challenges, and track milestones.
  • Review project status reports, RAID logs, and ServiceNow dashboards, ensuring data quality and consistency.
  • Run PM Forum sessions to foster engagement, share updates, and reinforce governance standards.
  • Partner with IT and PMs to troubleshoot ServiceNow onboarding or usage issues.
  • Prepare delivery status packs and escalate risks, dependencies, or delays to the Head of Transformation.
  • Act as the go-to "project police" - ensuring discipline in delivery, documentation, and governance adherence


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors in computer science or equivalent experience/studies
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in PMO in a multi-national environment for IT technical and/or application projects
  • Proven experience leading a PMO or project portfolio in a complex IT or transformation environmentHigh skill level with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and the ability to learn others as required.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery frameworks, stage gate processes, and portfolio governance.
  • Experience with ServiceNow (PPM module preferred) or equivalent PPM tools.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environment.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels and drive accountability.
