Position Overview

The Senior Manager Operations Efficiency is accountable for leading the processes aimed to improving operational efficiency, reducing OpEx, and enhancing asset performance across the organization. The role drives the execution of structured Plant / EMRA diagnostics to identify performance gaps, cost levers, and efficiency opportunities, and supports sites and regions in translating findings into sustainable operational improvements. Act as Business Owner for Specific Improvement (SI), driving prioritization, execution focus, and scalability of initiatives. Through strong cross-functional collaboration, the role ensures disciplined execution, value realization, and replication of best practices aligned with Manufacturing Excellence objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and govern Plant / EMRA diagnostics to identify efficiency levers, cost reduction opportunities, and asset performance improvements.
  • Translate diagnostic outcomes into clear improvement roadmaps, prioritizing OpEx reduction, productivity, energy efficiency, and asset utilization.
  • Support alignment between diagnostic outcomes and NOS performance assessment and plant maturity progression.
  • Provide oversight, challenge, and support during the execution phase of identified levers, ensuring rigor, pace, and measurable results.
  • Partner with Operations, Reliability & Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance teams to remove execution barriers and sustain gains.
  • Establish standard KPIs, benchmarking, and performance tracking to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Drive targeted Specific Improvement (SI) initiatives from diagnostics, ensuring scalability of proven solutions across plants and regions.
  • Build site and regional capability in performance diagnostics, continuous improvement, and cost-focused execution.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related technical discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, Novelis Operating System (NOS) / operational excellence, or performance improvement roles.
  • Proven experience leading plant-level diagnostics and driving cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated track record in operational efficiency improvements and OpEx reduction.
  • Experience working in multi-site, regional, or global manufacturing organizations

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience deploying standardized operational diagnostics frameworks (e.g., EMRA, loss analysis, manufacturing assessments).
  • Demonstrated results in improving productivity, asset reliability KPIs, energy efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Excellence systems, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • MBA or advanced business qualification is a plus.
