ResponsibilitiesJob Summary: As a Manager, Security Telemetry & Engineering, you'll lead a team responsible for the platforms and processes that power security monitoring across H-E-B's digital environment. This team owns security telemetry ingestion, log routing and transformation, SIEM administration, telemetry standards, and data onboarding. You'll ensure high-quality, reliable security data is available to support threat detection, incident response, and enterprise visibility while partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security teams to continuously improve security monitoring capabilities.
Qualifications & Key Requirements:Work Experience:
- 7+ years of experience leading Security Engineering, Security Operations, SIEM Engineering, or Security Platform teams responsible for enterprise-scale security monitoring and telemetry platforms.
- Experience administering and optimizing SIEM platforms, including Google SecOps, log ingestion pipelines, parser management, storage optimization, and integration health.
- Hands-on experience with Cribl or similar log routing and transformation technologies, including telemetry collection, normalization, enrichment, routing, and data pipeline reliability.
- Strong understanding of security telemetry architecture, including log onboarding, schema standards, data quality validation, and ensuring comprehensive visibility across cloud, SaaS, network, and application environments.
- Experience partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, Cloud, and SOC teams to establish telemetry coverage standards, onboard new data sources, and improve the effectiveness of security monitoring and detection capabilities.
- Experience building and scaling security observability, logging, and telemetry programs that support threat detection, incident response, compliance, and operational visibility.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Assists senior management in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed from a relatively long-term perspective. Erroneous decisions will have a long-term effect on the company's success.
- Advanced working knowledge of SD-WAN solutions, zero trust architecture, micro-segmentation; info security frameworks / industry best practices related to network security architecture domain (e.g., ISO 27001 and NIST); network security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization
- Advanced working knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, IPv6, BGP, MPLS, Qos/CoS, OSPF, spanning tree protocol, RPVST+/VSTP, LACP, LISP, 802.1X, 802.1q)

Education:
- Bachelor / Masters' degree in a relevant field of education
Licenses/Certifications:
- One or more professional security / networking and technology certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, GIAC, PCNSE, PCCSE, CCNP, CCIE)
