Senior Manager of Financial Reporting

Full-time, Salaried (Exempt), Hybrid

POSITION OVERVIEW

This role will report to the Controller and is accountable for overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements. The role will monitor and maintain the monthly and annual financial close process and the team. This person will also coordinate with outside auditors during any required audits related to our financial statements. Provide ongoing support and develop staff members. We are seeking a candidate who can effectively maintain and support existing processes while bringing a continuous improvement mindset to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and enhanced collaboration both within the department and across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and oversee the financial reporting process
• Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, timely, and prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. Timely review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Lead and monitor the monthly closing schedule.
• Oversee monthly consolidation of our US and Canadian entities.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit requests, review supporting schedules, documentation, and technical accounting analyses.
• Support internal controls over financial reporting, including control design, execution,

documentation, and remediation where needed.
• Assist with other ad - hoc projects and accounting workflows, as needed.
• Manage the financial reporting and general ledger team, supporting and developing them in their responsibilities.
• Oversee the cost accounting function done by our internal cost accountant, reviewing work and setting expectations

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, CPA preferred
• Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, preparing or reviewing financial statements, disclosures, and audit support materials.
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience with consolidations, multi-entity reporting, or international operations preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate financial data and information
• Cost accounting and/or manufacturing experience a plus

Reports to: Senior Director and Controller

LOCATION AND SCHEDULE:This is a hybrid role. Travel to World's Finest Chocolate's Chicago headquarters is required on a monthly basis for employees who live in state and on a quarterly basis for employees who live out of state. Monday-Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM
