Labcorp is seeking a HYBRID Senior Manager, IT position to join our team!

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm EST

This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of three in-office workdays at our Burlington or Durham, NC locations and two remote workdays per week, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

The Sr. Manager, Information Technology, is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and optimization of electronic data interchange and interoperability solutions across the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) organization. This role ensures secure, compliant, and efficient data exchange between internal systems, EMRs, payers, clearinghouses, and external partners.
This leader plays a critical role in improving operational efficiency, financial performance, and scalability by aligning EDI, HL7, FHIR, and payment processing capabilities with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of healthcare data integrations across EDI, EMR, and interoperability platforms.
• Oversee the EMR integration lifecycle, including setup, configuration, mapping, and testing for HL7 v2/v3 interfaces (e.g., ADT, ORM, ORU) supporting clinical and operational data exchange; FHIR APIs enabling secure, real-time interoperability; and ANSI X12 transactions (837 claims, 835 remittance, 820 payments, 270/271 eligibility, 276/277 claim status, TA1 and 999 acknowledgments)-ensuring accurate, compliant, and reliable end-to-end data exchange across systems and trading partners.
• Establish and execute EDI and interoperability strategy aligned with RCM transformation goals.
• Oversee 820 payment processing workflows, including reconciliation, posting integration, and exception handling.
• Ensure data integrity, performance, and reliability across all batch and real-time transactions.
• Manage onboarding, testing, and certification of payers, vendors, and trading partners.
• Partner with RCM Operations to streamline workflows and drive automation across claims, eligibility, and payment processes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ANSI X12, HL7, and FHIR standards.
• Lead incident management, issue resolution, and root cause analysis for transaction failures and integration issues.
• Establish governance, standards, and documentation for EDI and interoperability processes.
• Oversee system enhancements, releases, and modernization initiatives (including API-first strategies).
• Manage vendor relationships (clearinghouses, interface engines, API platforms).
• Lead, mentor, and develop technical teams responsible for EDI and integration services.
• Drive reporting and analytics focused on transaction performance, denial reduction, and payment accuracy.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field and .8+ years of experience in IT with a focus on EDI, healthcare integrations, and interoperability (HL7, FHIR) Or Associate degree in same with 10+ years same experience required.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • 3+ years demonstrated experience with ANSI X12 transactions (837, 835, 820, 270/271, 276/277, TA1, 999).
  • 3+ years experience with 820 payment processing, including reconciliation and exception handling.
  • 3+ years experience supporting HL7 interfaces and FHIR-based API integrations.
  • Experience working within Revenue Cycle processes (claims, billing, eligibility, payments).
