THE ROLE Sr. Manager, Global CommunicationsWe're looking for a
Senior Manager of Global Communications to help lead Quince's media strategy and external storytelling as the company enters its next stage of growth.
This is a rare build. You will be the sole owner of the communications function, reporting directly to the Head of Brand Strategy & Narrative, with the mandate and autonomy to shape how one of the most closely watched companies in retail is understood by the market. Quince's story is not a typical retail story. It is a story about a system: a manufacturer-to-consumer model that changes the economics of quality. The right candidate will find that irresistible.
Great communications is not about announcements. It is about shaping how the market understands a company over time, and choosing the moments, voices, and stories that compound into trust. We are looking for someone who operates at that altitude while still loving the craft.
Responsibilities- Own and execute Quince's proactive global media strategy across business, retail, technology, and consumer press, translating the company's manufacturer-to-consumer model into coverage that builds long-term brand equity and trust
- Serve as Quince's primary media relationships owner, cultivating deep, durable relationships with journalists and editors at outlets including BoF, Bloomberg, WSJ, WWD, Vogue Business, and Modern Retail, with credibility that gets calls returned
- Originate and pitch story angles that advance Quince's core narrative: the operating system behind the brand, category expansion, and global growth, moving coverage beyond price and product into how the business actually works
- Lead the drumbeat of proactive placements around company milestones, ensuring Quince tells its own story before others tell it for us
- Write and edit at an executive standard across press releases, media briefs, executive commentary, fact sheets, and background documents, serving as the company's sharpest editorial filter
- Prepare and position executive spokespeople for high-stakes media moments, owning briefing materials, message architecture, and interview prep in partnership with external media trainers
- Act as the communications lead for cross-functional launches, partnering with product, merchandising, and growth to shape announcements from strategy through execution rather than at the press-release stage
- Direct and hold accountable external PR agency partners, setting scope, driving output quality, and ensuring agency work ladders up to company narrative priorities
- Build and own the measurement framework for earned media, reporting coverage quality, share of voice, and narrative penetration, not just clip counts
- Design scalable communications systems, processes, and playbooks that allow the function to grow ahead of the company's next stage
- Maintain constant fluency in the retail, commerce, and consumer landscape, anticipating news cycles and positioning Quince inside the stories that matter before they break
QualificationsRequired: - 8+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or media strategy
- Experience working with consumer brands, retail platforms, or high-growth technology companies
- Strong media relationships across business, retail, and consumer press
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Experience managing agency partners and cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear and compelling narratives
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
