Full Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the SVP, Finance, the Sr. Manager, FP&A will play a crucial role in partnering closely with Accounting, Department Heads and Senior Leadership while leading the annual budget, periodic forecasting and cash flow management. This position requires a self-starter with attention to detail, financial acumen and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead all aspects of the annual financial planning process, including the development of robust revenue, expense and cash forecast assumptions.
  • Oversee the consolidated planning and forecasting cycles, providing scenario modeling and strategic input to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Provide support in the consolidated monthly and quarterly close process by partnering with Accounting, ensuring timely, accurate variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Continuously updating and managing cash flow model with reporting presented monthly to upper management.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of actuals and variance analysis to department leadership
  • Partner with department leadership to obtain business insights to be incorporated into the forecast.
  • Present financial insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership, enabling informed decisions to optimize growth, margins, and cash generation.
  • Manage and maintain financial models and forecasts to support frequent business plan updates and analysis for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly reporting package and financial analytics for senior management.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of all lines of business and analyze key drivers for each, to be able to identify efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve results across departments.
  • Complete debt reporting requirements on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and submission of all MLS specific reporting including the annual MLS reporting package for the season.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business initiatives, such as new sponsorship deals, stadium improvements, and player acquisitions.
  • Ad hoc scenario analysis and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in an FP&A environment including reporting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Proven leadership skills with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Sports and entertainment experience a plus.


SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Expertise in P&L and cash flow management, including consolidation, variance analysis, and performance tracking at both operational and executive levels.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems (preferably NetSuite) and financial planning systems (preferably Vena).
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Passion for soccer and a good understanding of MLS operations is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and driven self-motivator with a strong work ethic to get the job done.
  • Ability to analyze processes and procedures to make improvements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently - both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work productively and multi-task in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
