Job SummaryThe Site Compounding and Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) Resin Sr. Manager leads the area consisting of the Lexan Polycarbonate (PC) Compounding, PBT Compounding and PBT Resin operations units. The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operational strategy and performance. The Operations Manager is accountable for EHSS, Quality and Reliability performance of the operation and must work with our EHS&S, Maintenance, Technical, and Project Teams to drive continuous improvement efforts.
Job Responsibilities- Develops business strategy to optimize Site Compounding assets and teams together with business, supply chain, procurement and site.
- Sets direction and goals for the operating unit including operating parameters and high-level production targets and business rules and coaches team to ensure deliverables are understood and accomplished
- Responsible for EHSS, quality and reliability performance, while establishing a continuous improvement mindset
- Oversee operations and production leadership for the Site Compounding and Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) Resin operation with approximately 185 employees
- Facilitates organizational effectiveness through modeling, reinforcing and coaching team
- Makes sound and timely business decisions based upon business and unit plans
- Develops and drives implementation of ten year capital investment plan that supports and advances business and unit safety, quality and reliability improvement initiatives
- Manages personal development and the development of direct reports
Job Requirements- B.S. of Engineering or related field is required.
- 8 years compounding or chemical operations manufacturing experience is required, preferably in the plastics industry.
- 3 years of compounding operations manufacturing leadership preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to meet program and/or operating plan metrics.
- Strong team leadership and cross-functional communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work with high a degree of reliability and self-reliance.
