This is your opportunity to join the Software Product Assurance (SPA) Software Security Sensors and Effectors (S3E) Department as the Upper-Tier Missile Defense (UTMD) Software Engineering Deputy Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL) and Section Leader responsible for the management of 12-16 engineers. This opportunity is full time onsite in Woburn, MA.
What You Will DoThe UTMD SW Deputy CPTL is part of the core team that defines and leads technical execution of software engineering scope in the areas of algorithm development, simulation, cyber security, program protection, OSI development, and sustainment for the AN/TPY-2 and XBR systems. Together with the CPTL, the Deputy CPTL is also responsible for technical program reviews, owning the scope from both schedule and cost perspective with active engagement from an EVMS standpoint, development of the team's technical bench strength, active management of Risks and Opportunities, preparation and presentation of Directorate Estimate at Completion (EACs), Directorate level proposals, staffing projections and monthly tracking. They will also support interviews for the various Individual contributor and leadership roles on the program to ensure we are hiring the skillsets we need to meet our various deliverables. They will also lead initiatives that drive long term change to the program that ultimately lead to long term success. The candidate will require the ability to understand how their efforts affect the "big picture" of the radar systems.

The leaders are collaborative across disciplines within the program area to execute the software development objectives and integrate within the program team.
The Deputy SW CPTL will:
Lead SW development activities within UTMD programs, including oversight into the various capabilities and features, ensuring that they are being worked in the correct order and completed within cost and schedule and align to the builds they are targeted to be released in. This also includes ensuring code, unit test, integration, and deployment of our code is adhering to the Software processes defined for the program.
Manage the execution and delivery of all SW work products to ensure technical, schedule, and cost expectations of the program are met
Determine the allocation of personnel within the team and working with other functional leads in support of multidisciplinary agile development and the continual improvement of people, processes and tools
Responsible for supporting proposal development across numerous contracts
Prioritize and manage backlog of tasks focusing on rapid delivery of Minimally Viable Products to satisfy customer needs
Manage competing priorities associated with troubleshooting, site sustainment, development of new capabilities and technical refreshes
Frequent interactions with leaders from other CPTs and Departments, including the Systems Engineering CPT, System Integration & Test CPT, and the Radar Capabilities Integrated Product Team (IPT)
As an S3E Department Section Leader the candidate will act as a key leader and mentor in the department, employing leadership, presence and influence skills while fostering teamwork and interdependent execution.
Responsible for the sustainment, assessment, and development of the section members
Ensure section members adhere to policy, vision, values, and goals
Communicate flow-down to section members
Performance development including collecting and providing performance feedback to section members. Support section member's yearly performance goal development
Support section salary and labor planning
Career and job assignment mentoring
Qualifications You Must Have - Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and 10+ years of engineering experience in embedded software engineering.
- 2+ years as a software team lead including, but not limited to, Product Owner, IPTL, CPTL
- Experience in software development, integration or test using C, C++, Java, or Ada
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer- Experience leading 30+ Engineers
- Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, OSI, QEWR, UEWR, SRP or radar data processing domain knowledge
- Experience leading multidisciplined teams on radar development programs for DOD and FMS customers
- Understanding, and compliance with, DoD technology release and export licensing policies
- Experience creating and using metrics to inform data driven decisions
- Experience working and leading in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps
- Experience in software project leadership including EAC and proposal development
- Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
- Embedded Product Security Domain experience
- Experience collaborating with program stakeholders in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with cost estimation, writing basis of estimate (BOEs) and developing government technical proposals
- CORE, EVMS, Software Project Management Certification and PMX certifications
- Experience with program execution in the full software development lifecycle, to include one or more of the following phases: design, development, production, system integration, verification and qualification

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
