Responsibilities

  • Lead the Customs Team across the US, Mexico, and Brazil while reporting to the Global Head
  • Manage and enhance the Customs & Trade Compliance program across the three countries
  • Ensure compliance with Mexico's IMMEX program
  • Provide strategic advice to minimize customs costs and manage tariffs
  • Assist in the rollout of global projects related to export controls and trade agreements
  • Review legal changes and guide their implementation
  • Advise stakeholders on complex supply chain and strategic decisions

Full Job Description
Responsibilities:

  • Leading the US / MX / BR Customs Team and Reporting to Global Head
  • Management and further development of the Customs & Trade Compliance program in the US, MX and BR for the purpose of mitigating risk to the company. (Including classifications, valuations, training program, manuals, export controls, broker strategy, other customs and foreign trade topics)
  • Ensure compliance with IMMEX program in Mexico
  • Strategic support and advice to mitigate customs costs (e.g. section 301 tariffs, etc.)
  • Support in roll out of global projects (Export Controls, Free Trade Agreements, etc.)
  • Review of legal changes and implementation
  • Advise on complex supply chains / strategic decisions
  • Support of external and internal customs audits and self-assessments Management of stakeholders and customs brokers


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or job-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Automotive customs experience.
  • Work experience 5 years minimum in similar role.
  • Manufacturing, Purchasing, Legal, Logistics experience a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of US / MX / BR Customs and Border Protection Regulations
  • Working knowledge of CBP portals and website.
