The Sr. Manager, Close / A2R serves as the Global Process Owner for accounting close and accounting-to-reporting (A2R) processes for DePuy Synthes. The position partners closely with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Technology, and Shared Services to enable high-quality financial reporting, strong internal controls, process simplification, and finance transformation. • Establish global process design principles and requirements for financial closing and reporting activities.
  • Lead close governance forums, define process performance metrics, monitor compliance with global standards, and drive accountability for timely issue resolution.
  • Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Technology, business finance, and service delivery teams to align process design with business needs, reporting requirements, and control expectations.
  • Sponsor and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives that simplify close activities, improve data quality, reduce cycle time, enhance automation, and increase global process consistency.
  • Build process capability across the organization by developing playbooks, training, role clarity, and adoption plans for finance teams and shared service partners.
  • Represent A2R process requirements in ERP, close management, reporting, and transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions are standardized, controlled, scalable, and aligned with the global process roadmap.
  • Serve as the senior process authority for business changes, restructurings, integrations, and complex accounting process impacts, providing decision support and escalating design trade-offs where needed.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, governing, and improving complex close or A2R processes across a large, matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, lead through ambiguity, and drive adoption of global standards without relying solely on direct reporting authority.

Preferred:
  • Experience with A2R transformation, shared services, or global accounting models.
  • Experience with ERP and financial close systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms).
  • Background in manufacturing, medical device, or healthcare environment.
  • Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and complex accounting topics.
