We are looking for a
Senior Manager, Buyer Strategy to shape how customers become aware of, engage with, and keep coming back to eBay Live. This role will focus on defining overall viewer & buyer strategy, driving demand quality & productivity, and partnering cross-functionally to unlock growth across categories & geographies
This is a high-impact individual contributor role to start with strong cross-functional influence across product, marketing, and operations. Opportunity to shape a supporting team once on board.
What You Will Accomplish
Define Demand Strategy & Growth Levers
- Develop and evolve overall viewer & buyer strategy end to end
- Identify key customer segments, behaviors, and growth opportunities using data and market insights
- Define what success looks like for viewers & buyers on eBay Live (e.g. productivity, retention, GMV contribution)
- Translate insights into clear strategies and actionable initiatives
Drive Buyer Activation & Success
- Partner with marketing & product to improve awareness, consideration, engagement, conversion & retention of customers
- Partner with teams that design playbooks to help buyers & potential buyers better understand & engage with live formats
- Identify friction points in the buyer journey and work with product to simplify and improve the experience
- Support development of incentives, programs, and tools that drive buyer growth
Own Buyer Insights & Performance Tracking
- Establish and track key buyer metrics
- Analyze buyer performance to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Help shape weekly business reviews and operating cadences with a strong buyer lens
Partner Cross-Functionally to Improve the Platform
- Work closely with product to inform roadmap priorities based on buyer needs
- Partner with category & programming teams to align demand with supply & content strategies
- Collaborate with trust and policy teams to ensure safe, high-quality buyer experiences
- Act as the voice of the buyer across the organization
Support Category & Market Expansion
- Contribute to category-specific buyer strategies based on market dynamics
- Help identify which buyers to prioritize, when, and why
- Support expansion into new categories by defining buyer profiles, overall demand needs, and activation approaches
What You'll Bring- 8+ years of experience in ecommerce, marketplaces, or customer roles. Blend of startup & enterprise experience is a plus
- Experience in growth, operations, or strategy roles is highly preferred. Working closely with or embedded in product teams is a plus.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking - ability to turn data into insights and actions
- Proven ability to drive initiatives cross-functionally without direct authority
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- A dynamic, proactive approach, an ability to create clarity out of ambiguity (while also being comfortable with ambiguity), and the desire to work in a very fast-paced, evolving environment
- Interest in live commerce, creator ecosystems, or video-driven marketplaces
- AI Native thinking and skills (vibe coding, agent building)

Additional DetailsThe base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$154,800 - $206,700
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
