About This RoleThe Senior Manager, Business Strategy & Operations will support the strategic, operational, and cultural priorities of Biogen's West Coast Hub (WCH) Development organization. Reporting to the Head of Strategy, Operations & Excellence, this role works closely with leadership to help translate strategy into plans, enable execution, and drive consistency across key initiatives. This role is designed for a strong operator who thrives in a matrixed environment and is comfortable partnering across teams to support planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do• Strategic Planning & WCH Enablement
• Support site-level strategy development, planning, and prioritization in partnership with leadership.
• Translate strategic priorities into operating plans, timelines, and materials.
• Coordinate planning and delivery of key WCH Development forums and site forums beyond Development (e.g., all-hands, on-sites, R&D learning sessions).
• Track progress across priorities, highlighting risks, dependencies, and decisions for leadership visibility.
• Support change management efforts, including communications and adoption activities.
• Business Operations & Strategic Initiatives
• Support execution of business operations initiatives aligned with Development priorities and site-wide priorities.
• Contribute to process improvement and simplification to enhance team effectiveness.
• Help maintain operating rhythms, planning cadences, and coordination across teams.
• Assist in developing scalable approaches that enable efficient and compliant execution.
• Site, Culture & Ecosystem Engagement
• Support site leadership initiatives that strengthen culture and ways of working.
• Partner with HR and site leadership to implement engagement activities and programs.
• Coordinate logistics and execution of site events and leadership engagements.
• Support external-facing site engagements in alignment with enterprise guidance.
• Communications
• Develop clear and concise materials to support leadership communications.
• Support the preparation of updates, presentations, and storytelling on key initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise communication standards and messaging.
Who You AreYou are a detail-oriented and collaborative operator with strong organizational skills and sound judgment. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities, and supporting execution in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:Required• Bachelor's degree (science or related field preferred).
• 5+ years of relevant experience in biotech/pharma or a related industry.
• Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
• Strong communication skills with experience preparing presentations or materials.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to execution.
Preferred• Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) or MBA.
• Experience in R&D, Development, or scientific organizations.
• Exposure to strategy, operations, or project management roles.
• Experience supporting organizational or change initiatives.

Additional InformationThe base compensation range for this role is: $140,000.00-$187,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
