Senior Manager, Advisory & Planning, Private Client

The Senior Manager, Advisory & Planning, Private Client is a senior leadership role responsible for leading, coaching, and developing Wealth Advisory Practices serving Empower Private Client. The role leads multiple cohorts of Wealth Advisory Practices and aligns people, processes, and priorities to deliver a consistent, first-in-class client experience.

Empower Private Client serves individuals with $1 million or more in individual client assets with Empower Personal Wealth. This leader is accountable for strengthening long-term client relationships, supporting asset consolidation through trust and planning-led engagement, and driving client retention and satisfaction.

The Senior Manager embeds the Relationship Management team's expectations of proactive, collaborative, communicative, and appreciative leadership into coaching, performance management, and decision-making.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop multiple Wealth Advisory Practices serving Empower Private Client, establishing clear expectations for performance, culture, communication, and client experience
  • Provide ongoing performance management through regular touch-base meetings, call reviews, performance reviews, coaching, and compensation-related recommendations
  • Hold Wealth Advisory Practices accountable for client retention, asset consolidation, client satisfaction, and relationship development while supporting appropriate involvement in client onboarding and acquisition efforts
  • Develop high-performing teams through ongoing coaching, advisor training, education, and leadership development
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance the Private Client experience, collaborating across teams to improve client outcomes and service delivery
  • Develop and enhance reporting, metrics, and insights to improve visibility, accountability, decision-making, and performance across Wealth Advisory Practices
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop advisor training and establish standards that improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of client communication and education
  • Ensure effective staffing, practice coverage, and continuity to support a consistent client experience
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and drive execution across Wealth Advisory Practices
  • Recruit and select talent aligned with organizational culture, performance expectations, and Private Client service standards
  • Monitor and manage established performance measures related to practice effectiveness, including client retention, asset consolidation, client satisfaction, advisor performance, and other metrics
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on operational and strategic initiatives supporting the growth and effectiveness of Empower Private Client


What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or extensive industry experience
  • 7+ years of financial services relationship management experience, leading high-net-worth or private wealth advisory teams
  • Experience leading and developing senior career professionals
  • FINRA Series 7, 66, 63, 65 and Series 24 registrations required
  • FINRA Fingerprinting required
  • Expert, current knowledge of investment products and services relevant to high-net-worth clients
  • Proven relationship management and client experience expertise within financial services
  • Ability to evaluate, compare, and clearly articulate the benefits and suitability of investment options and solutions
  • End-to-end knowledge of retail investment services, including front-office operations, ongoing client suitability, product personalization and maintenance, client experience, and retention
  • Knowledge of investment advisory client operations, including account establishment, Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS) transfers, IRA distributions, and related servicing activities
  • Strong leadership and team-development skills with demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills informed by quantitative data and qualitative insights
  • Strong operational, organizational, and follow-through skills with the ability to manage complexity and drive execution
  • Ability to operate effectively at strategic and tactical levels and translate strategy into action
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

What Will Set You Apart
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification
  • Experience leading multiple advisory practices, teams, or cohorts in a complex financial services environment
  • Experience using data, reporting, and performance metrics to improve advisor effectiveness, client retention, asset consolidation, and client satisfaction

Base Salary Range
$96,100.00 - $135,700.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
