Qualifications

• Licensed by the CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV Therapy and blood withdrawal certification
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience performing phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and related clinical skills
• Knowledge of instruments and supplies for physical examinations
• Ability to take vital signs and manage medication refills
• Skill to identify and report abnormal laboratory values
• Basic proficiency in computer applications and patient care systems

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to kidney transplant patients and living donors
• Facilitate in-person and telehealth clinic visits, including patient intake
• Triage patient calls and address clinical inquiries
• Coordinate care across healthcare providers and insurance
• Reconcile medications and maintain comprehensive patient records
• Obtain vital signs and perform blood draws
• Administer IV fluids and manage infusions as required
• Promote patient flow and continuity of care across specialties
• Serve as the main contact for patients and families, ensuring quality care
• Adhere to UCLA Health System principles for patient experience
