Position Overview

The Information Technology Senior Project Manager takes a lead role in researching, recommending, and managing the implementation of information technologies. This includes analyzing processes, developing the business case, defining the project,
facilitating product selection, planning project deliverables, budgeting, and managing internal and external resources in the completion of assigned projects.

This role is seeking someone experienced with:
  • The ability to Interperate construction drawings plans and specifications for low voltage infrastructure systems and pathways/spaces.
  • The ability to red line and markup drawings and convey IT requirements to Architects and Engineers.
  • Strong understanding of design/layout for security, technology, and communication systems.
  • Knowledge of Cabling, Nurse Call, A/V, Security, Access Control, CCTV, Wireless, Network, and End User Computing system layouts.
  • Understanding of design/layout for security, technology, and communication systems.
  • Ability to bring teams together including owner, architect, trade partners, engineering, and installation teams for coordination of planning, scheduling, buy outs, executing, punch, and closing.
  • Author scope of work documents pertaining to all Low Voltage, Communication, Physical Security, Network, and Information Technology Infrastructure.


Responsibilities

Essential Functions
• Manages all aspects of multiple simultaneous Information Technology projects of varying complexity including initiating, planning, construction, implementation and closure. Oversees the most complex and significant projects within the organization.
• Manages people included on project teams as they contribute to all phases of projects and execution of project tasks.
• Identifies stakeholders, develops project charters, and works with stakeholders to determine and document agreed upon project scope and requirements.
• Develops and maintains project plans including work breakdown structure (WBS) resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans; develops communication and training plans; and develops requirements documentation.
• Coaches and mentors project team members, resource managers and customers on project management, and project delivery methodologies, policies and practices.
• Directs a variety of technical resources and functional team members to determine best methods to achieve project objectives. Responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems.
• Prepares and delivers both formal and informal departmental training to other IS Project Managers.
• Provides insight into IT governance structure to customers.
• Assists with and/or facilitates technology selection. Participates in development of vendor Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal as required.
• Procures and manages internal and external project resources. Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements, scope and statement of work documents, and service level agreements for technical services in conjunction with internal teams, vendor partners and global resources firms. Participates in vendor contract negotiation and development.
• Adheres to compliance required within the project methodology Phase Gates.
• Analyzes department workflows and assists with process analysis and change.
• Ensures all project documentation including meeting agenda/minutes resides on project SharePoint sites.
• Delivers weekly updates of the project status, scope, schedule and cost.
• Manages project budgets, budget reporting, and approving project expenses.
• Manages change, risk, issues and communication within projects.
• Performs post-project review and formally conducts "lessons learned" sessions after project closure. Documents all related action items and follows up to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management.
• Communicates effectively at the executive level.
• Understands and assists with improving and defining business processes both within and outside of Information Technology (IT).
• Exhibits an organizational perspective in decision-making.

Qualifications

Education/ Training
• Bachelor's degree OR one of the following is required:
o Associate's degree and two (2) additional years of directly related work experience in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section
o High School diploma or equivalent and four (4) additional years of directly related work experience in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section

Licensure/Certification
• Current Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.

Experience
• Five (5) years of Information Technology project management experience required.
• Experience project managing projects with consistent use of a formal project management methodology.
• Experience delivering software solutions to a large user base.
• Prior project management experience managing multiple complex IS projects simultaneously.
• Experience managing people to complete tasks identified in formal project plans.
