Position Summary
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sr. HR & Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources, general affairs, and administrative operations across the company. This role manages recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation strategy, organizational culture, and also ensures smooth administrative support including facility coordination, office supplies management, and company-wide internal communication.
This role will serve as the strategic partner and operational lead for all people-related and workplace administration matters across GET Freight's headquarters and branch locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Human Resources Leadership
- Lead and execute company-wide HR strategy aligned with business goals and culture.
- Serve as advisor to the CEO and executive team on workforce planning, employee performance, compliance, and retention.
- Provide guidance to the HR team on complex and sensitive employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and DOT labor regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Lead internal HR audits and respond to agency or legal requests.
- Maintain HR systems, job descriptions, organization charts, and policies.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including staffing for CDL drivers and management positions.
- Develop strategies for sourcing, interviewing, and retaining qualified candidates.
- Manage the onboarding and orientation processes, ensuring documentation, benefits setup, and policy understanding.
- Performance, Training & Development
- Lead the performance management cycle including goal setting, reviews, and compensation adjustments.
- Design and implement training programs to support professional growth, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Develop leadership development pipelines and succession planning frameworks.
- Monitor market trends and recommend competitive salary structures and incentive programs.
- Oversee administration of health, dental, vision, 401(k), and disability insurance.
- Maintain and review leave of absence and workers' compensation records.
- General Affairs & Administration
- Supervise administrative support functions including office maintenance, supply procurement, and vendor management.
- Manage facility-related needs such as security, space planning, and branch office coordination.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, executive scheduling, internal communications, and event planning (e.g., company events, holiday parties).
- Oversee insurance and licensing renewals (e.g., corporate liability, facility-related coverage).
- Reporting & Documentation
- Collect and analyze HR data to generate regular and ad hoc reports for leadership.
- Ensure proper documentation of all HR policies, employee records, compliance files, and office operations procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or HR certification preferred).
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Administrative management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of U.S. labor law, DOT compliance, and HR operations.
- Proven ability to manage multi-site HR and administrative operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar operational environment is a plus.
Work Schedule and Location
- Primary work location is Duluth, GA.
- Occasional travel to branch offices (Mobile, AL / Savannah, GA / Oakland, CA) may be required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
