This role supports long-range product planning for the Visualase franchise by shaping roadmap inputs, product enhancements, lifecycle planning, and future platform opportunities. You will gather customer, market, and competitive insights; engage healthcare professionals and field partners to identify unmet needs and workflow challenges; and partner with cross-functional teams to translate those insights into product requirements, business cases, and roadmap recommendations.

We are looking for an analytical, customer-focused marketer who can translate clinical insights, market trends, and business priorities into clear product strategy and actionable recommendations. In this role, you will help influence the future direction of Visualase by connecting customer needs, clinical workflows, competitive dynamics, and technology opportunities to strategic product decisions. You will work closely with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Education, downstream marketing, regional teams, and physician customers to support franchise growth and bring forward solutions that better serve patients and care teams.   • Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Support upstream strategy and product planning for the Visualase franchise, including roadmap planning, product enhancements, and future growth opportunities.
  • Lead or support voice-of-customer activities, including physician interviews, advisory boards, surveys, field feedback, and customer journey mapping.
  • Translate customer and market insights into unmet needs, product requirements, value propositions, and roadmap recommendations.
  • Conduct market, competitive, clinical, and technology assessments to inform franchise strategy and investment priorities.
  • Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to support feasibility discussions, trade-off decisions, design inputs, and development priorities.
  • Support business case development, forecasting inputs, product prioritization, and portfolio recommendations for future Visualase investments.
  • Develop clear, executive-ready communications that summarize insights, decisions, risks, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with downstream marketing, regional teams, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Education, and field partners to align upstream planning with customer and business needs.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.


Nice to Have
  • MBA, advanced degree, or formal training in marketing, strategy, engineering, clinical research, or healthcare innovation
  • Experience in upstream marketing, product planning, product development, innovation strategy, or portfolio strategy
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, neurosurgery, neuromodulation, oncology, epilepsy, imaging, or capital equipment markets
  • Experience conducting voice-of-customer research, market research, competitive analysis, or customer segmentation
  • Experience translating customer needs into product requirements, business cases, value propositions, or roadmap recommendations
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and leadership-ready materials

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. a7 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$133,600.00 - $200,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
