Full Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a seasoned Sr. level Global Supply Chain Manager to create and execute the procurement strategy for the materials going into our battery enclosure systems. The Sr. GSM serves as the key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time in a cost effective manner. The successful candidate will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle. Key Responsibilities and Skills: 1. Supplier Relationship Management: - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective stamping, extrusion, casting, thermal control, and adhesive supply partners - Manage on-going communication channels to ensure alignment on supplier performance, expectations, and improvements - Address any issues or concerns promptly to ensure continuity of supply 2. Supplier Performance Evaluation: - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, such as quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectiveness - Regularly evaluate supplier performance against set KPIs and rapidly initiate corrective actions 3. Contract Negotiation and Management: - Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions aimed at creating maximum value for Lucid - Review and revise contracts as necessary to adapt to changing relationship dynamics, business needs or market conditions - Monitor contract compliance and address any deviations or discrepancies in collaboration with relevant stakeholders 4. Inventory and Demand Planning: - Work closely with demand planning teams to accurately forecast demand for cylindrical battery cell requirements - Implement inventory optimization strategies and collaborate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory 5. Risk Management: - Identify and sprint to mitigate any potential risks within the supply chain, including supply disruptions, quality issues, or geopolitical issues - Collaborate with Finance to continually survey and monitor if the supply base is financially stable and solvent - Create commodity strategies to enable swift actions if urgent resourcing is necessary 6. Negotiation and Cost Management: - Negotiate commercial terms with key suppliers to drive maximum value for Lucid - Analyze supplier costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements; lead the negotiations and drive results - Track and report cost savings initiatives and their impact on the overall supply chain budget and vehicle BOM cost 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Lead the cross-functional team from the commercial perspective, ensuring Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Material Planning, and Production are aligned to the overall commodity strategy - Lead and participate in regular meetings with project teams to address issues, share updates, and drive collective goals and objectives 8. Travel: - 10-20% to visit suppliers to address critical supply issues and perform business and program reviews Core Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering - Proven experience with complex analysis, consulting, supply chain, and data analytics - Impeccable visual presentation, interpersonal and communication skills - Demonstrated experience working independently with excellent judgement as to when stakeholders should be engaged to drive results - Ability to navigate numerous competing priorities and triage priorities according to business needs - Strong interpersonal skills, with a team-first mindset that creates a vibrant, cohesive environment to help resolve problems, cascade best practices and deliver optimal results - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and sense of urgency and ownership that leads to effective hands-on execution - Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage difficult suppliers, mitigate unforeseen problems and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with key stakeholders - Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities - Proficient in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. - Experience specifically within the battery industry or related industries such as electronics, renewable energy, or automotive - Commodity management experience for stampings, extrusions, castings, composites, injection moldings, adhesives, foams, potting, and mica - Experience managing complex global supply chains and working with international suppliers and partners - Expertise with import/export regulations and international trade practices - Demonstrated success in negotiating large, complex contractual agreements aimed at driving cost reductions, delivery assurance, and process improvements - Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve common goals and objectives - Outstanding strategic critical-thinking skills coupled with high emotional intelligence - Flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements, market conditions, and technological advancements Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Base Pay Range (Annual) $121,900-$167,640 USD Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program.
