Provides visionary leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for WSP's construction management practice across high-value, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects. Serves as the top technical authority in construction delivery, guiding senior leadership, clients, and cross-functional teams through all phases of project execution. Oversee large-scale construction programs and ensures successful delivery aligned with WSP's operational objectives, client goals, and industry best practices. Leads innovation in construction methods, risk mitigation, and field strategies while mentoring technical leaders and advancing organizational excellence. Represents WSP externally as a recognized expert in construction management and contributes to shaping the future of construction practices across the sector.
Your Impact

WSP is seeking a Sr Construction Management professional with experience with combined cycle, simple cycle, and reciprocating gas installations. This role requires onsite presence on projects located in the mid-West, west Texas, and other regions where WSP is supporting construction management for our customers. Key attributes include:

  • Lead strategic oversight and technical direction for major construction programs across diverse market sectors.
  • Serve as the top internal advisor on construction delivery, risk management, and field operations.
  • Provide executive-level counsel to clients, regulators, and internal leadership on project planning, execution, and delivery strategies.
  • Direct the resolution of critical and novel construction challenges involving significant operational, contractual, and technical complexity.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of program-wide construction management frameworks, QA/QC systems, and performance protocols.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance constructability, reduce project risk, and optimize delivery outcomes.
  • Evaluate enterprise-wide construction trends and translate insights into actionable project delivery enhancements.
  • Lead peer reviews, technical audits, and high-risk design or field decision validations.
  • Support and lead the evaluation and defense of claims, dispute resolutions, and forensic field investigations.
  • Advance construction innovation by promoting cutting-edge technologies, materials, and digital tools.
  • Lead strategic engagement with industry organizations, standards boards, and technical advisory groups.
  • Foster collaboration across business lines to align construction efforts with integrated project delivery goals.

  • Mentor senior construction professionals and oversee the development of technical training programs for staff.
  • Influence corporate policy related to construction safety, delivery methods, and operational procedures.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of relevant post-education experience in construction management or related areas.
  • Recognized as an enterprise-level subject matter expert in construction management and field operations.
  • Proven leadership of large, complex capital construction programs or portfolios across sectors.
  • Extensive experience resolving multi-party construction issues involving technical, contractual, and stakeholder challenges.
  • Expert knowledge of delivery methods including design-build, CMAR, P3, and hybrid models.
  • Track record of leading construction safety initiatives at a programmatic or enterprise scale.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise project controls and integration of field metrics with cost and schedule systems.
  • Proven success managing multi-disciplinary teams and aligning field operations with strategic business outcomes.
  • Experience guiding forensic investigations, claims mitigation, and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engagement with C-suite executives, boards, and public stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in advancing construction innovation, technology adoption, and delivery process improvements.
  • Recognized presence in professional associations or industry forums as a technical authority.
  • Proficiency in construction management platforms (e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud) and advanced data tools.
  • Experience supporting federal, state, and international projects with varying compliance frameworks.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to support contract development, pricing strategies, and risk profiling.
  • Leadership in mentoring, coaching, and succession planning for senior construction professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as an executive representative of the firm in high-visibility project and public settings.
  • Experience managing senior-level stakeholder expectations and achieving consensus in high-stakes environments.
  • Deep understanding of environmental, sustainability, and resilience-related requirements in field delivery.
  • Commitment to organizational integrity, ethical practices, and performance excellence across business units.
  • Experience supporting capital program governance, performance audits, and board-level oversight reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long-term strategic relationships with clients and contribute to business growth.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM), PE, or equivalent credential.
  • OSHA 30-hour safety certification.
  • Experience leading construction delivery for infrastructure megaprojects or complex vertical developments.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Active leadership in CMAA, ASCE, DBIA, or other national construction organizations.
