Job Title

Sr. Full Stack Developer

What does a successful Fullstack Engineer do at Clover?

In this role, you will be a lead UI/UX-minded engineer responsible for driving the client-side evolution and expansion of our platform. While you have the full-stack capability to navigate backend APIs, your primary strength and passion lie in building exceptional web experiences, modern user interfaces, and modular frontend architectures. As part of the Loyalty Program team, you will own the user experience on the Clover Dashboard, translating complex data into sleek, responsive web applications used by over 700k merchants worldwide. Working alongside a strong team of dedicated backend engineers, you will bridge the gap between design, product, and services—owning web client features end-to-end, evaluating modern frontend technologies, and ensuring sub-second UI responsiveness at scale.

What you will do:

  • Architect, design, and develop high-performance, modular web-based frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript, backed by supporting Java/Spring Boot microservices.
  • Own the client-side architecture of the Clover Dashboard, establishing frontend best practices, state management standards, and component libraries.
  • Partner with Product, UX, and core Backend Engineers to translate product requirements into intuitive, reliable web workflows and clean, extensible software.
  • Design, consume, and optimize RESTful APIs and GraphQL/event-driven endpoints built for web clients, mobile dashboards, and 3rd-party app integrations.
  • Promote effective use of AIpowered engineering tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated test generation, code review, and UI performance profiling) to accelerate delivery and quality.
  • Own client services and features from design through deployment, automated UI testing, and production monitoring.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, advocating for modular code, responsive design, accessibility, and clean frontend architecture.
  • Coach and mentor team members to improve their technical frontend capabilities, web performance optimization, and UI testing strategies.
  • Participate in regular release management and cross-functional agile rituals across distributed teams.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with a proven focus on Frontend / Web Engineering.
  • Expertise in React and TypeScript, including deep knowledge of modern client-side state management, build tooling (Webpack/Vite), and Web Performance Optimization.
  • Strong Full Stack capabilities: Working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot to build, update, or integrate with existing backend microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with modern CSS frameworks, component design systems, and responsive web design for complex dashboard interfaces.
  • Experience using and championing AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, automated test suites) to accelerate UI delivery.
  • Practical knowledge of RESTful API design, HTTP/browser protocols, web security (OAuth2, CORS), and working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with Micro-frontend architectures (e.g., Webpack Module Federation).
  • Familiarity with secondary languages/tools: Python, Node.js, GraphQL, or Docker/Kubernetes containerized workflows.
  • Previous background in Fintech, e-commerce, POS platforms, or merchant analytics tools.
  • Experience re-architecting client-side monoliths into decoupled, high-availability web applications.

How youll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Benefits at Fiserv:

  • Fuel Your Life program to support your physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being
  • Paid holidays and generous time away policies
  • No-cost mental health support through Employee Assistance Programs
  • Living Proof program to recognize your peers extra effort with points redeemable for rewards
  • Eight Employee Resource Groups to foster a collaborative culture and expand your network
  • Unparalleled professional growth with training, development, and internal mobility opportunities
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options available from day one
  • Retirement planning and discounted shares with the Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Tuition assistance and reimbursement program
  • Paid parental, caregiver, and military leave
