Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant to join our diverse and discerning finance and accounting team! Specifically, we are looking for someone who is ready for growth in their career and ready to tackle challenges as the company grows and changes. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will have extensive opportunities to improve processes and controls; as well as drive efficiencies throughout the fixed assets operations and reporting processes in our flagship, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. What you'll do:- Own the consolidation of the fixed asset register (multiple construction projects), ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in compliance with the company policy and accounting standards.
- Direct management of the fixed asset process for the Company's research and development sites (California and Massachusetts).
- Monitor and reconcile Construction-in-Progress (CIP) balances and partner with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely and correct capitalization.
- Support and enhance existing fixed assets accounting processes within Oracle, including depreciation runs, asset tagging, and asset class management.
- Conduct regular asset audits and physical inventory checks in collaboration with site and operations teams at the R&D locations; reconcile discrepancies and propose remediation plans.
- Lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives, especially around asset tracking, reporting automation, and cross-functional visibility.
- Prepare monthly close entries and reconciliations, and support financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including appropriate treatment of asset impairments, retirements and componentization.
- Lead/own the suite of SOX controls for the fixed asset process.
- Collaborate with IT and Finance system teams to improve asset workflows and controls in Oracle.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and narratives related to capital assets.
What you'll bring:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 4-5 years experience in US GAAP Accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion a plus)
- Able to work independently with little instruction and can adapt to change
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changes in prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Where you'll work:This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV-an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
