Full Job Description
The Senior Commercial Analyst serves as the lead finance business partner to Commercial leadership and provides the financial insight, analytics, and decision support needed to drive profitable growth. This role combines advanced commercial finance, pricing, forecasting, profitability analysis, and strategic planning capabilities to ensure commercial decisions are grounded in sound financial logic and aligned with company objectives. The position operates independently, influences key business decisions, and proactively identifies revenue, pricing, customer, product, and margin opportunities while improving the processes and analytical tools that support commercial performance.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a trusted finance business partner to Commercial and Sales leadership, providing proactive financial guidance, commercial insights, and decision support that improves growth quality and profitability.
  • Support pricing analysis and governance processes, including price realization, discounting trends, pricing exceptions, margin thresholds, contract pricing mechanisms, and pricing actions tied to cost or market changes.
  • Provide financial evaluation of customer quotes, large or non-standard commercial opportunities, contract renewals, strategic deal proposals, rebates, incentives, and commercial agreements.
  • Own customer, product, channel, and segment profitability analytics to identify margin drivers, sources of margin leakage, and opportunities for customer or portfolio optimization.
  • Analyze commercial performance versus budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic plan through volume, price, mix, margin, and cost driver analysis.
  • Lead development of revenue, volume, and margin forecasting assumptions by integrating pipeline activity, bookings, backlog, pricing actions, customer demand trends, and market intelligence.
  • Support S&OP, annual planning, long-range planning, and strategic growth initiatives through scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, business cases, and risk/opportunity assessments.
  • Partner cross-functional with Sales, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to improve decision quality and align commercial actions with financial outcomes.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve commercial reporting, dashboards, KPIs, data models, and performance scorecards across ERP, CRM, pricing, and BI platforms.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and narratives that translate complex commercial and financial data into clear recommendations, risks, opportunities, and action plans.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Pricing, Business Analytics, Commercial Strategy, or related discipline.
  • Experience supporting commercial organizations in a manufacturing, industrial, engineered product, or B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with pricing analysis, customer profitability analysis, revenue management, forecasting, margin analysis, or commercial decision support.
  • Advanced financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills, including scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, profitability modeling, and large data set analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including complex models, pivot tables, Power Query or equivalent data transformation, and structured analytical workbooks.
  • Experience working with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, JDE, Infor, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience developing or using BI dashboards and analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence business decisions without direct authority and build credibility with senior commercial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
