This position reports to:Field Service Manager
In this role, you will lead and execute a wide range of field service activities for motors and generators, including commissioning, installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer training. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and delivering high-quality technical support to our customers.
This position offers extensive travel opportunities across the United States (including offshore facilities) as well as international assignments, providing exposure to diverse industries and environments. Beyond technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute strategically by identifying what our customers value most. Your insights will help shape and align our business unit's value proposition to customer needs.

This role is contributing to the Motion Service division in the US.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Travel to customer sites to oversee installations, perform system start-ups, conduct maintenance, deliver customer training, and execute repairs in accordance with factory specifications.
- Support maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of generator excitation systems, protective relays, auxiliary equipment, and deliver technical training and participate in educational initiatives for both customers and internal teams.
- Produce detailed technical reports outlining system performance, failure analysis, and corrective actions; partner with design engineering to review findings and solutions.
- Maintain a travel schedule of approximately 70%, with the remaining time dedicated to training, project engineering support, and rest periods.
- Provide responsive, first-line remote troubleshooting support to address customer emergencies and collaborate with engineering teams to develop action plans.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in technical field and 7 years of relevant experience or High school diploma/GED and 9 years of relevant experience or military education/experience required
- Travel up to 70% required. Confident to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong knowledge of basic and advanced electric machines theory. Solid understanding of synchronous and asynchronous machines design and operation, mechanically, electrically and controls. Knowledge of the protection and operation principles for synchronous and asynchronous machines connected to power grids
- Specific knowledge in installation engineering design, installation supervision, project control and execution, vibration and alignment skills and troubleshooting is a plus
- Understanding of and ability to implement electrical, connection drawings, interconnection drawings, and schematics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated skills in using computers and relevant software packages such as Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, ability to qualify for and hold various industry certifications related to Safety (i.e. MSHA, OSHA, THUET, TBOSIET), and ability pass background screenings (i.e. TWIC, ISNetworld)
