Title: Sr Factory Automation Engineer - 122106
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Factory Automation Engineer for JD Waterloo Works located in Waterloo,Iowa you will:

  • Lead and execute large to complex Factory Automation solutions requiring a great depth of FA knowledge and skills which integrate several areas of engineering and require coordination of cross-functional teams, outside design professionals, and contractors.
  • Point of Contact for a defined business segment supporting cross-functional projects, business uptime, machine data analytics, and Smart Connected Factory initiatives.
  • Review and manage FA active project portfolio for a defined site and assign projects to FA Engineers based on project priority, business impact, and individual skill sets.
  • Respond to critical production down situations affecting manufacturing and maintenance activities.
  • Drive alignment through the definition and deployment of common strategy, processes, and tools for FA projects, as well as review/approval of RFQ's for new and modified equipment to ensure FA standards are followed.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and development to FA Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Maintenance personnel.

  • Skilled in PLC and computer programming, Structured Query Language (SQL), and the engineering tools associated - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, and may teach others.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and the codes, common practices, and engineering tools required - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, and may teach others.
  • Knowledge of MES solutions (Ignition, SAP, AMES, JDAAT, Wonderware, SepaSoft, etc.) process control, process scheduling, mistake proofing of manufacturing processes, and shop floor device connectivity. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, and may teach others.
  • Project management experience demonstrating effective communication, teamwork skills, problem solving, and multiple concurrent project workload management.
  • Strong people skills, ability to lead without authority, demonstrated ability to teach others.


What Makes You Stand Out

  • 7 or more years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: electrical, controls, computer, etc.
  • 7 or more years of experience with configuration and maintenance of MES solutions
  • 7 or more years of experience in PLC and/or PC programming
  • 7 or more years of experience with automation and controls design
  • 5 or more years of experience in electrical design and the use of electrical drafting software
  • 3 or more years of experience in project management - moderate to large scale complex projects
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing engineering projects


Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
