Full Job Description
Supervises and oversees all work activities that ensures that facility and equipment is continuously able to support all (production and non-production) functions, processes, and areas necessary for timely, efficient, safe, and quality production. Receives work priorities from a higher-level manager to delegate assignments for timely and efficient completion of projects. Coordinates all building changes and upkeep and drives improvement. Recommends and/or initiates personnel actions and administers company policies of the department. Designated ISO 14001 Environmental Management Representative.

Key responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision
  • Responsible for the safety and work performed by maintenance/facilities employees
  • Enforces all work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolves work problems, employee concerns, and interpersonal conflicts.


Safety and Health
  • Conducts monthly safety training/meetings for all supervised personnel.
  • Identifies, reports, and corrects unsafe practices or conditions.
  • Collaborates with the Safety personnel to implement timely corrective actions.


Environment
  • Plans and implements environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for environmental compliance and audits (internal and third-party). Designated ISO14001 Environmental Management Representative. Writes and develops formal programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance of all programs meet or exceed EPA standards. Responsible for maintaining a work environment that meets regulatory requirements.


Facilities
  • Supports contractor safety by ensuring contractors comply with safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Plans and coordinates day-to-day scheduling of maintenance and facility requirements and Preventive Maintenance (PM). Develops and utilizes a robust PM program to drive metrics, objectives, timely completion of PMs and projects, and implement predictive maintenance actions.
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the building and equipment used in the production environment.
  • Coordinates all outside contract work for new construction, repair, and technical maintenance; ensuring that all cost, quality, delivery, and safety standards are met.
  • Coordinates all buildings and grounds (lawn mowing, painting, snow removal, parking lots...) activities ensuring the facility is both functionally and visually appealing.
  • Performs annual reviews and addresses employee issues requiring disciplinary action.

What we're looking for

Associate Degree with 3-5 years managing employees in a manufacturing or maintenance environment preferred; 5-10 years industrial and facilities maintenance training or equivalent relevant experience. Successful completion of ISO 14001 Lead Auditor preferred.
