Position DescriptionSummary of PositionThe Senior Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for scaffold and insulation projects while supporting profitable growth. This role works closely with operations, field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to evaluate project requirements, develop pricing strategies, and ensure successful project handoff and execution. The Senior Estimator also supports continuous improvement of estimating processes and mentors team members as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop complete project estimates.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, labor forecasts, equipment requirements, and material pricing.
- Solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor and subcontractor quotations into project estimates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
- Develop competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
- Prepare proposals, bid submissions, and estimate summaries.
- Partner with operations and field leadership to validate project assumptions and execution plans.
- Facilitate project handoff meetings and provide estimating support throughout project execution.
- Analyze estimate performance and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Mentor junior estimators and promote estimating best practices.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Position RequirementsRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 10+ years of estimating experience within industrial construction, scaffold, insulation, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of estimating principles, labor productivity, and project cost analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Technical Skills- Estimating software experience (STACK preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
