Summary

Responsible for planning, coordinating, completing, and delivering environmental support and services for a wide range of technical and environmental activities, directly and by supervision, in support of facility environmental programs and compliance, customer support, and NAES objectives. Support the implementation of Environmental Compliance Programs at NAES operated plants and external customers to ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental Standards. Manages and completes multiple projects including complex projects. Leads broader projects and program development to support compliance and program needs of multiple facilities/customers and clients. Develop and maintain specific program areas within NAES as assigned serving as a subject matter expert.

Primary Duties

Provide direct support and guidance to NAES facilities for environmental program development, coordination, and implementation. Provide support for existing O&M contracts/facilities as well as transitions/pre-commercial support for new accounts and third-party clients. Support provision of contracted services to customers and initiatives to further NAES growth. May be asked to serve as the single point of contact for complex contracts and/or key clients.

Develop and implement plans, schedules, procedures, tools, training, and processes required to establish and maintain a comprehensive Environmental Compliance Program for use by NAES operated plants and external customers. Plan, develop, and execute training programs designed to ensure compliance with Environmental Compliance program requirements by plant personnel.

With minimum supervision, execute specific tasks, prepares or reviews evidence showing compliance with Environmental Standards, coordinates compliance activities and provides guidance to plant managers, plant personnel, internal, and external stakeholders. Prepare communication documents to promulgate information related to the Environmental Compliance Program to ensure that affected Parties are knowledgeable of all requirements.

Travel to client sites to help perform Environmental Compliance Program development, gap analyses, mock audits, audit participation and training of client personnel. Participate in industry forums. Ensure that all contract deliverables are met on assigned projects, including issuing required reports, development of production delivery schedules, tracking of project status against planned execution. Be the customer's single point of contact for assigned projects.

Maintains knowledge of current and future Environmental regulatory requirements. Assess impact on NAES operated plants, and our customers. Identify any operational risks across the business portfolio and effectively communicate risk with leadership.

Working Relationships

The position reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services, and has no direct reports.

Compensation

The initial compensation will range from $137,500 to $158,100 depending on experience

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental, scientific, or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.

  • Years of Experience: 5 years of directly applicable experience.

  • Preferred Experience: 8 or more years of directly applicable experience is desired.

  • Licenses/Certification: Professional environmental/engineering licenses/certifications are desirable.

  • Software/Equipment Knowledge: Working knowledge of MS Office Programs, Power BI, SharePoint, Benchmark Gensuite, and other data management systems to support compliance programs and development of client deliverables.

  • Other Considerations: Significant experience and technical knowledge with environmental compliance, environmental consulting services, and project management in or supporting power plant(s) or process industries is desired. Experience with multi-tasking of multiple projects is necessary. Demonstrated effectiveness providing high quality, customer service in working with/leading teams and providing training and guidance. Ability to communicate exceptionally well orally and in writing for many audiences.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Normal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required during periods of travel, high workload, or major projects. Client demands may dictate adjustment to the schedule including on-call duty and demands beyond the normal job description.
  • Travel may be required to meet client or project requirements.
  • Work is performed on industrial sites when traveling, requiring protective clothing and equipment.


Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
