Full Job Description
Position summary T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr Engineers, Software located in Bellevue, WA will understand system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Design and build systems that allow millions of connected IoT devices to send and receive data securely using cloud services. • Develop and support software that handles large volumes of information being transmitted in real time from remote IoT devices. • Create software solutions to organize, store, and retrieve different types of data effectively for business use. • Build system components that can grow easily as the number of devices or users increases, without slowing down or failing. • Set up automated processes that help deliver software updates and infrastructure changes quickly and reliably. • Monitor the health, speed, and reliability of systems and take action when issues are detected. • Work closely with other teams to understand business needs and turn them into working software solutions. • Provide guidance on how to build and maintain large-scale systems that meet business, technical, and security standards. • Research and apply new tools and techniques that make systems better, faster, and easier to manage. • Write documentation and share knowledge with other engineers to support teamwork and long-term success. • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. • No additional national or international travel is anticipated. Skill requirements: • (1) Building scalable applications using .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and C#, with experience handling structured and unstructured data using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cosmos DB; • (2) Designing and managing cloud-native systems using Microsoft Azure (IoT Hub, Functions, DevOps), with infrastructure automation via Terraform and Helm; • (3) Working with high-volume data pipelines using Apache Kafka, Event Hub and Azure Stream Analytics to support real-time device communication; • (4) Working with system observability through Azure Monitor, Grafana, and Application Insights to maintain reliability, detect bottlenecks, and ensure service continuity across millions of connected devices; and • (5) Optimizing performance and scalability of IoT systems supporting millions of connected devices through distributed design and intelligent resource management using Kubernetes and Redis.
