As a CBRE Sr. Engineering Ops Manager, you will lead a team responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing complex mechanical operations across a portfolio of facilities and campuses. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and performance of critical building systems. • Direct and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance operations across a complex, multi-site portfolio. Establish priorities, allocate resources, optimize staffing, and ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for complex operational, maintenance, and building systems issues, partnering with internal teams and client stakeholders to drive effective solutions.
  • Oversee the performance of contractors, subcontractors, and engineering service providers, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards and service level expectations.
  • Manage the operation and performance of facility controls, building automation systems, and asset management platforms to support reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Lead sourcing and procurement initiatives, including developing bid specifications, evaluating vendor proposals, and managing contract maintenance activities.
  • Develop, manage, and forecast annual operating and maintenance budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial performance across multiple campuses and locations.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to align with client business needs while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Partner closely with client stakeholders to support space reconfigurations, capital projects, operational changes, and evolving business requirements.
  • Apply broad business and technical expertise to drive strategic initiatives, improve operational performance, and achieve departmental and client objectives.
  • Champion CBRE's RISE values by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead complex technical and operational problem-solving efforts, identifying risks, opportunities, and innovative solutions that enhance portfolio performance.
  • Evaluate and improve existing processes, procedures, and standards to drive efficiency, scalability, and best-in-class engineering operations.
  • Assess the broader business impact of operational decisions and provide strategic recommendations that support both client and organizational goals.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Strong background and working knowledge of MEP systems in a commercial, campus, or critical facilities environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams, drive operational excellence, and achieve business objectives across multiple disciplines and departments.
  • Experience managing engineering, maintenance, and operational budgets at a campus or portfolio level.
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence effectively, including the ability to deliver sensitive or complex information, establish clear performance expectations and resolve operational and personnel-related issues.
  • Experience leading unionized engineering teams, including Local 39 personnel, is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa sponsorship now or in the future.
