Full Job Description
The opportunity

Support Gildan's DC Operations by increasing efficiency through process improvements while reducing cost. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

The role
  • Provide engineering support for operations budget and capital expenditure budget.
  • Maintain labor standards.
  • Work with Manhattan support on system problems.
  • Support safety policies and goals.
  • Seek short- and long-term cost reduction through process improvements, workplace and equipment enhancements, and layout changes.
  • Assist management in achieving quality and productivity goals.
  • Support operations in day-to-day problem resolution to facilitate growth of the business.
  • Provide finance with process costing, special project labor/equipment costing, and annual budget planning.

The requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • 3 -5 years minimum in Industrial Engineering
  • Limited travel
  • Leadership
  • Delegation of duties as needed to ensure objectives are met.
  • Communication with customer and multiple departments within organization both written and oral.

  • Data entry
  • Must be proficient in Industrial Engineering and Distribution functions.
  • Must have a general knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Requires excellent computer (MS Office) and communication skills.
  • Requires knowledge of time study, pre-determined time systems, and incentive standards development.
  • Expected to work independently, evaluate alternatives, and make appropriate recommendations to management while achieving company expectations.
  • Required to integrate several operational activities and resolve inherent conflicts.
  • Manages and optimizes the use of resources.
  • Sets goals, targets, and accountability in line with operational plan.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility to changing work priorities.
