JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer to deliver analytics and reporting solutions that help track, measure, and optimize automated claims processing solutions. The role will leverage tools like Power BI, Azure Databricks, and SSRS

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working with the Microsoft SQL BI Stack, including Azure SQL, SSRS, T-SQL, and Power BI.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:
  • Developing post-production reporting to track solution effectiveness and surface potential issues
  • Creating claims impact reporting to assess automation potential, issues or financial impact
  • Designing and maintaining dashboards and custom analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Contributing to the research and implementation of emerging technologies to enhance our claims and data ecosystem

We're looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable, data-driven solutions - and who thrives as a flexible, collaborative team player within an already high-performing group of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable reports and dashboards using Power BI, Databricks, and SSRS.
  • Build and maintain SQL database objects (tables, views, indexes), ensuring performance, integrity, and security.
  • Develop reports utilizing complex queries, stored procedures, and multiple data sources with automation capabilities.
  • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot interoperability issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to gather, define, and translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead design review sessions with cross-functional teams to validate requirements and architectural decisions.
  • Research and implement proof-of-concept solutions for innovative data technologies.
  • Support testing efforts, including the development and refinement of test plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues and reporting defects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.


Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proficient in SQL Server, T-SQL, Power BI, and Azure Databricks.
  • Experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Server 2016+, and the broader Microsoft BI Stack.
  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices, including Azure DevOps and GIT.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into data solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and ability to derive actionable technical specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies, especially working within Scrum teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
