Overview

Join our team as a Senior Engagement Manager and support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS) by leading day-to-day delivery of high-visibility data reporting and analytics services. You will serve as the single point of contact for program leadership, oversee a cross-functional reporting and web-support team, ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly statistical products to senior DHS stakeholders.

**Position is contingent upon contract award**

Work Schedule and Location:

On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at DHS's OHSS office in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DHS's Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative on all program matters.
  • Maintain awareness of, and coordinate across, a multi-task program covering daily/weekly/monthly statistical reporting, ad hoc data dashboards, data validation, website content maintenance, and surge analytics support.
  • Be available for client calls during core business hours and respond to technical issues within 24 hours.
  • Lead resolution of technical and programmatic issues raised by the client, escalating and coordinating internally as needed.
  • Support monthly status reporting, deliverable tracking, and quality review of contractor work products.
  • Coordinate staffing continuity, ensuring the client always has a qualified point of contact even during team member absences.
  • Partner with data, web development, and statistical staff to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely delivery across all task areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of senior-level program/engagement management experience overseeing multi-disciplinary technical and reporting teams.
  • Client relationship management: comfortable serving as the primary, senior-level interface between the contractor team and government program/contracting leadership.
  • Multi-workstream program oversight: able to track and coordinate several concurrent lines of effort at once (statistical reporting, BI/dashboards, data validation, web content) without losing visibility into any one of them.
  • Responsiveness under SLA-like expectations: strong time-management and triage skills, with the discipline to meet a defined response window (e.g., 24-hour turnaround) on client-raised issues.
  • Issue resolution and escalation judgment: proven ability to resolve technical/programmatic problems directly when appropriate, and to know when and how to escalate internally.
  • Program reporting and deliverable management: experience producing status reports, tracking deliverables, and reviewing work products for quality prior to client submission (MS Office proficiency required).
  • Staffing and continuity planning: experience arranging backup coverage and contingency staffing so client-facing support is never interrupted by absences or turnover.
  • Cross-disciplinary team leadership: able to manage and get results from staff across distinct technical disciplines (data engineering/analytics, dashboard/BI development, web development, statistics) without necessarily being a hands-on practitioner in each.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation for recurring access to government facilities/systems (Public Trust level anticipated).

Desired:

  • Prior experience supporting a federal statistical, data-reporting, or analytics program.
  • Experience managing delivery across data engineering, dashboard/BI, and web content workstreams simultaneously.
