Labcorp is seeking a HYBRID Senior Director, Third Party Exceptions & Correspondence position to join our team! Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm EST This hybrid position offers a balanced schedule of three in-office workdays at our Burlington or Durham, NC locations and two remote workdays per week, supporting both collaboration and flexibility. LabCorp Diagnostics' Revenue Cycle Management division is currently seeking a Sr Director of Third Party Exceptions & Correspondence Operations. The Sr Director, Third Party Exceptions & Correspondence Operations, is responsible for leading and optimizing a large-scale Revenue Cycle Management operation focused on exception resolution, customer, patient, client, and payer correspondence, denials-related workflows, and associated account receivable activities. This leader develops and executes strategic initiatives that drive operational excellence, financial performance, regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. The role oversees organizational performance through continuous improvement, workforce development, process innovation, technology enablement, and cross-functional partnership. Success in this role is measured through achievement of operational, financial, quality, compliance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction objectives while driving continuous improvement and sustainable business results. The leader in this role ensures ongoing development of all resources on the team, employees, supervisors and managers. The leader actively contributes to the overall success of the company including financial targets as well as daily business decisions. Responsibilities: - The Sr Director defines and executes the strategic vision for Third Party Exceptions & Correspondence Operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, customer expectations, and Revenue Cycle Management priorities. - Accountable for operational performance and financial outcomes, including inventory management, accounts receivable reduction, productivity, quality, and cash acceleration targets. - Leads digital transformation initiatives by leveraging automation, analytics, workflow technologies, and emerging capabilities to improve efficiency, quality, and financial performance. - Drives a culture of operational excellence by establishing, documenting, and continuously improving best practices, performance standards, and quality outcomes across the organization. - Provides leadership and direction to managers, directors, and individual contributors within a multi-site revenue cycle operation, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development. - Ensures all operational decisions, policies, and procedures align with revenue cycle best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives while driving optimal financial and customer outcomes. - Oversees all aspects of Third Party Exceptions and Correspondence operations, including payer inquiries, claim exception resolution, correspondence management, root-cause analysis, escalation handling, and process improvements that support timely reimbursement and reduction of accounts receivable. - Creates and continuously evaluates standard operating procedures that support company business practices and overall Revenue Cycle Management operating practices, strategies, and goals. - Evaluates, recommends, and implements technology solutions, automation opportunities, and process innovations that enhance operational effectiveness and business outcomes. - Leads large-scale organizational change initiatives, ensuring successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and operating models. - Delivers results against a defined scope of work that includes measurable ROI, strategic innovation, operational performance, reporting, and human capital development. - Provides leadership and oversight to ensure effective inventory management, performance analysis, root-cause identification, and action planning to address operational variances. - Partners with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, including RCM, Compliance, HR, Legal, IT, and Operations, to design, implement, and optimize processes that support organizational objectives. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field and 10 years of progressive experience in Revenue Cycle Management, healthcare operations, or a related field, including leading large-scale teams, managers, and leaders Or Associates degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field and 12 years of progressive experience in Revenue Cycle Management, healthcare operations, or a related field, including leading large-scale teams, managers and leaders required Preferred Qualifications: - Masters degree - Previous experience in Third Party Exceptions, RCM, Denials - Demonstrated success in leading a large revenue cycle management operation in the healthcare industry - Effective leadership and analytical skills including working knowledge of staffing models and inventory management - Detailed knowledge of healthcare billing components - Managed Care, Government Billing, Compliance, and Affordable Care Act - Effective, simultaneous management of strategic advancements and day to day operations - Strong mentoring and relationship building skills with ability to effectively manage group and interpersonal conflict situations - Strong negotiation, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills - Computer skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, analytics and reporting tools, workforce management platforms, and emerging technologies that support operational efficiency and revenue cycle optimization Application Window Closes: 7-17-26 The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers.
